I'm planning to give 2 or 3 talks: ** How to live with SELinux at the moment, I am giving this presentation all over Europe, but I want to show it to an American audiance too.. here is an abstract: Security Enhanced Linux, is disabled in most cases due to fact that most people do not take the time to understand how to work with SELinux. However security increases, by keeping SELinux on, as all applications are segregated therefor even if a intruder were to enter it would only affect that application. In RHEL,Fedora most applications are predefined in SELinux and can be adjusted, however other applications can be added easily with the integrated tools, allowing you to run any custom application. The presentation explains what SELinux is, how it works, how to implement the predefined policies and how to create custom policies. ** My vision on the future of the Fedora project My vision about the non technical challenges the Fedora Project encounters (marketing, ambassadors, ...), how we can anticipate on it, what to change, what is good, brain storming, making things happen. ** intro talk about Fedora Linux installation, and basic configuration, like I did last year, but in one hour in stead of 2 hours ** Syncing with Ryan Rix get the guidelines settled for the Campus Ambassador project + review the first months that are happening now * If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. I also can be helped with a partial subsidy. I can travel on my own budget to Miami, and from there I will use subside to travel to fudcon. I want to meet all the people those I have been working with. Right now, it is too early to set a goal, but I guess I shall talk and work on something. No * What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? Most important goal, join developers and engineering team to improve Fedora Latam Devel initiative (rpmdev , packaging and developing). I would like to become a mentor in packagers group in 2011 to be able to recruit and promote more packagers from our region and getting direct contact with major developers and engineering at Temple is really important to achieve this goal. Also i would like to get closer to global Fedora community and present our efforts to improve Fedora from our point of view. As an outgoing FAmSCo member, I plan on spending time with the many FAmSCo members who are going to be present. Participate in conversations about the future of the Fedora Project which seem inevitable. Build new relationships and strengthen existing ones with other Fedora contributors. For hotel, I plan on arriving January 28 and leave on February 1. Plane ticket should be at around 750$ with Delta Airlines for the round trip (Departure from Quebec, YQB). * If we cannot provide a full subsidy, will a partial subsidy be helpful? (Yes/No) Yes, of course! * What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? (Please be as specific as possible, since this is the most important factor in granting requests.) After attending my first FUDCon last year in Toronto, it's easier to see how this sort of event flow now. One thing that I would like to organize at the FUDCon is to do a cleanup of the Review Requests that are in Bugzilla. Many good packages are there and just wait for a review. I think that it could be extended to an IRC effort too at the same time, so, people unable to attend could help too. I plan on meeting other Fedora Ambassadors to see how we can speed the grow of the Fedora Project in Quebec and Canada. We have already completed many steps on this but some remains. Meeting with other Ambassadors (and some from other regions than USA) will be really helpful. I also plan on working with others on packaging efforts that will be present at the FUDCon. Apart from that, I plan to have fun meeting people that share the same goal as me! * If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. Also let us know if you have specific time restrictions. I plan to leave from YQB on January 28 to PHX and make the trip back on February 1. I have no special needs and I don't mind the departure/arrival time. FUDCon Tempe budget update

Hi FUDcon Tempe organizers, I had a chance to get all caught up on Community Architecture team expenses over the Thanksgiving weekend, and here's where we stand for FUDCon Tempe. The sum total of expenses that I've either paid for myself, or of expense reports coming from folks like Paul and Jared that were transferred to the Community budget is currently $11,590. Robyn -- I know there's still some more plane tickets that need to be purchased, but when we talked about that last week, it seemed like the list of tickets in the trac instance and the actual airfare requirements didn't match up. What still needs to be bought? Or am I just missing something obvious? --Max
