* What do you need covered? (Please estimate the costs in USD: hotel $X,

Flight from PHX to ROA -- ~400$
* If we cannot provide a full subsidy, will a partial subsidy be helpful?
(Yes/No)
Yes

200$ or so. I'm not picky. Anything to make it a little bit more
affordable would be great.
* What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? (Please be as specific as
possible, since this is the most important factor in granting requests.)
Reconnecting with various folks within the KDE SIG, I will be using it as
an opportunity to dive back in to the Fedora community and work with the
rest of the SIG to figure out how to make Fedora the top-tier KDE distro
again.
I'm also interested in working on an Open Hardware SIG, focusing on, for
starters Arduino, and moving in to other OSH
* If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such
as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. Also
let us know if you have specific time restrictions.
I'm not at all sure on this. I will most likely not have work or school or
anything in that time period, so I am open to whatever flights are the
cheapest.
* Do you need a visa or other official processing before you can attend
FUDCon? If so, approximately how long does that processing take?
Nope.
* Include any additional, relevant information.

Hi there,
On behalf of the French community, I am very pleased to announce you
that we are candidate for the 2012 EMEA FUDCon, the town chosen is… Paris!
Our bid wiki page[1] is still in process, but at least we are on time,
we want to avoid the beginning of January rush.
All is not clear yet, because we want to make it happen with the
Open World Forum ("Think. Code. Experiment."). Date and venue are set, but could change a bit.
We need them to define that, but of course we have a rescue plan and we
would be ready by the 11th of January.
Even by reading the bid process wiki page[2], I still don't know the
number of room to ask in the accommodation quotes. Could you please share
your mind?

#86: Consider anti-harrassment policy for FUDCon
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
Reporter: pfrields | Owner: pfrields
Type: Task | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone:
Component: FUDCon Tempe 2011 | Keywords:
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
To date, we've never had any safety, hostility, or harrassment problems at
a FUDCon. Nor do I believe this would change in the near future.
However, some community conferences have had this problem:
* http://valerieaurora.wordpress.com/2010/11/08/its-not-just-noirin/
* https://lwn.net/Articles/417952/
We've been asked whether we'd consider an anti-harrassment policy for
FUDCon. Some Fedora community members have been involved in the creation
of a generic policy that is available for adaptation and use:
* http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/index.php?title=Conference_anti-
harassment_policy
I believe all planners would agree we want attendees at a FUDCon to enjoy
their time there, and that we want them to feel safe to participate and
contribute there. However, there are some pending questions about what
risks and benefits the establishment of a policy creates. For instance,
does it increase liability for organizers, or Red Hat as a sponsor? I'd
think not, but since I'm not an expert, and don't believe any of us in the
planning group are, I've reached out to find a personnel policy expert in
Red Hat who could advise us.
