Reconnecting with various folks within the KDE SIG, I will be using it as an opportunity to dive back in to the Fedora community and work with the rest of the SIG to figure out how to make Fedora the top-tier KDE distro again. EMEA FUDCon 2012, French bid

Hi there, On behalf of the French community, I am very pleased to announce you that we are candidate for the 2012 EMEA FUDCon, the town chosen is… Paris! Our bid wiki page[1] is still in process, but at least we are on time, we want to avoid the beginning of January rush. All is not clear yet, because we want to make it happen with the Open World Forum ("Think. Code. Experiment."). Date and venue are set, but could change a bit. We need them to define that, but of course we have a rescue plan and we would be ready by the 11th of January. Even by reading the bid process wiki page[2], I still don't know the number of room to ask in the accommodation quotes. Could you please share your mind? Nor do I believe this would change in the near future. Some Fedora community members have been involved in the creation of a generic policy that is available for adaptation and use: * http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/index.php?title=Conference_anti- harassment_policy I believe all planners would agree we want attendees at a FUDCon to enjoy their time there, and that we want them to feel safe to participate and contribute there. However, there are some pending questions about what risks and benefits the establishment of a policy creates. For instance, does it increase liability for organizers, or Red Hat as a sponsor?
