Just took a look at all the things that I have to do this FUDCon and relized that my hackfest time is going to be largely meetings and largely filled up already. One that hasn't been pre-arranged but we really should have -- We're flying a lot of latam ambassadors in this time around so they can help see FUDCon NA and carry ideas from that back to the planning forFUDCon Panama. It would be great if we could get the FUDCon Tempe Organizers and the Latam Ambassadors together for a meeting at some point. Maybe if there's a wrap up session planned, having this be an additional hour at the same meeting would be good. or maybe having it at a different time will save the Tempe Organizers from burnout :-)
Some things that would be good to over are:
* Estimates of how much time was put into getting making FUDCon Tempe. * Information about how much manpower came from the local organizers vs how much was done remotely. * Tips and strategies for staying on schedule and on budget. * Question and answer about the actual events that were held (barcamp, hackfest, fudpub) and ideas and concerns about what logistics make them successful.
Dennis Gilmore could also give an update on how planning for FUDCon Panama is currently going and any observations about what's needed to make sure that that event comes out as well as this one.
Thanks, -Toshio

I actually brought up the idea to transfer knowledge from former (not only Tempe) to future FUDCon organizers in a hackfest/workshop some months ago already. I thought someone (or I) could pitch a session for that and just see whether we do more talking or more Q&A there. As several others supported the idea I hope I won't be the only one that is there to answer questions ;)

I think that Robyn, Jared, and I can be available on Monday to do this. Max is leaving Sunday evening and won't be around by that point.

For the list's benefit -- we did have this meeting and I thought it went extraordinarily well. Juan "Nushio" Rodriguez was in the room and transcribing:
http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-latam/2011-01-31/
Three of the most important pieces of information from the meeting, in my opinion, were:
1. Alejandro is doing a *great* job getting logistics and setup organized for FUDCon Panama.
2. The LATAM community (and Fedora community in general) need a lot more communication about what's being done, what remains to be done, and who is responsible for doing those things.
3. Alejandro should expect and get help from the people at the meeting in Tempe, but also from others in LATAM to help make FUDCon Panama the amazing success we know it can be.

This would be great. We can get all LATAM folks together and talk about FUDCon organization. I have presentation slides about LATAM that show the landscape of our local community right now, so we can take that and turn into a discussion about how to organize a FUDCon Event regarding our characteristics and good things that Tempe Organizers can teach us to overtake our challenges.
Dennis Gilmore could also give an update on how planning for FUDCon Panama is currently going and any observations about what's needed to make sure that that event comes out as well as this one.
One of the points I would like to add here is how to improve our communication. For sure Tempe Organizers have many experiences to share on that too.
