Hi there,
I wanted to make static (at least) content translatable of fudcon.fedoraproject.org. But it appears to me that this site is not really updated, Milan was months ago for example, and we still could "register". Please see tickets, #89[1] and #59[2].
I think the reference is http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon, we should probably build a script to get that from somewhere. Or have someone taking care of that (simply add a notice "open a ticket to the websites team whenever you update this page").
Moreover, the actual source code is ugly, with many copy & paste, that would be awesome to define the text and re-use the same on each occurrence, in order to help maintainers (you could see what was done for fedoracommunity.org) and translators.

Saleem and Shreyank, Don't you have a team, is there a process ?
Without further info, I'll do things by myself and define the updating process (which should be explained in the fudcon organization page and somewhere on the websites wiki page).
Regards,

I am really sorry, for some unforeseen reasons this mail never saw my inbox.
When we did the Fudcon India website, tatica made the design, and me and Saleem having access just pushed the raw HTML into the fedora-web git.
I'm not sure whether that is the way. But we had some time constrains to be met.

Ok thanks. What I would like is to define that somewhere. Being on the websites team, I would have been able to help you with this on time.
Because they are some work on the Drupal instance, that would be better to 1) finish it and let FUDCon teams be autonomous, or 2) stay in the static html websites with the websites team knowing that they have to deal with it ;) (setting Trac component and so on).
cheers,
+1 take it to Drupal... if we stay with html this topic will still need to be solved later, so lets do it now

Saleem and Shreyank, Don't you have a team, is there a process ?
Without further info, I'll do things by myself and define the updating process (which should be explained in the fudcon organization page and somewhere on the websites wiki page).
For the Fedora hosted FUDCon site [1], we followed a simple process. We would just make the changes in HTML and templates, verify them and then commit them. The changes would reflect on the website after a delay of roughly 1 hour. ( One only needs commit access to do this ).
However, for the purpose of FUDCon Pune we [2] setup a separate instance with Drupal / COD [3]. We wanted to have a dynamic website with many features which were simply not possible with a static website like fudcon.fp.o [1].
Therefore, fudcon.fedoraproject.org was essentially not used for FUDCon Pune, in which I was involved. Here is the relevant site: http://fudcon.in/
If time is a constraint then I would suggest to go for a static web-site on fudcon.fedoraproject.org, as configuring COD is a bit time-consuming task. However, once it is configured correctly it will just work seamlessly.

Hi, thanks for this input Saleem. So you have been working for your own instance, you didn't expect to build this for the community? Do you think that it could be implemented on our infra, which could be shared with all future FUDCons?
Adding to CC: Vaidik Kapoor. Adding Original Thread [0] for reference.

Yes that is the intention. It is for the community. All the code is hosted on github [1]. I am personally quite occupied at the moment, so I won't be able to maintain an another instance.
Do you think that it could be implemented on our infra, which could be shared with all future FUDCons?
Yes. Only the infra is needed [2].
Best regards, Saleem

Ok nice. But before asking our infra, we need to have an admin team, who will install/maintain it. As I am not a CMS addict, I won't fit for this job. Actually we have asrob. Anyone else?
