I haven't worked on this in quite a while now after my old patches were not
accepted upstream, but I'm recently been contacted by other upstream developers
interested in working together to try and continue this work.
The current limitations in the kernel interfaces to iscsid restrict iscsid to
functioning in the initial network namespace. Any other containerization
should be fine. In docker terms I believe that means running with --network
host.
If this does make progress, it will not be for RHEL 8 as it's too invasive a
series of changes to consider at this point in RHEL 8.
