Bug ID: 1190127
Summary: FTBFS with system bibutils lib under ghc78
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Component: ghc-hs-bibutils
Assignee: petersen(a)redhat.com
Reporter: petersen(a)redhat.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: haskell-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org,
petersen(a)redhat.com
Description of problem:
Somehow under ghc-7.8 the system bibutils library is not found
(also with "pkgconfig-depends: bibutils").
So temporarily hs-bibutils is being built with the copy library.

Bug ID: 1252723
Summary: git annex addurl fails if quvi is not installed
Product: Fedora
Version: 22
Component: git-annex
Assignee: mathstuf(a)gmail.com
Reporter: dcleal(a)redhat.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: haskell-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org,
mathstuf(a)gmail.com
Description of problem:
Since Fedora 22, git-annex addurl fails when the video download tool "quvi" is
not installed. It appears to try and run "quvi --version" and should handle it
being missing, but instead the whole git-annex command fails.
This works correctly on Fedora 21.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
git-annex-5.20140717-6.fc22
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Commit an ordinary file to a git repository.
2. git annex addurl --file test http://example.com
Actual results:
git-annex: quvi: createProcess: runInteractiveProcess: exec: does not exist (No
such file or directory)
failed
git-annex: addurl: 1 failed
Expected results:
addurl test (downloading http://example.com ...)
[..]
ok
Additional info:
An strace of both F22 and F21 versions shows the same, that it's trying to run
the quvi command. I guess something in the exception handling has changed.

See https://github.com/fedora-haskell/ghc for packaging.
It should reach copr soon...
--- Additional comment from Jens Petersen on 2015-05-15 16:08:55 JST ---
There is a copr repo now:
https://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/petersen/ghc-7.10.1
(Also 7.10.2 snapshot build:

7.10 needs 3.5.0 < llvm < 3.6 to build (3.5.0 is buggy) on armv7.

(tested on armv7hl by adding
+ --with-llc=%{_bindir}/llc --with-opt=%{_bindir}/opt \
to configure options in ghc.spec)

So there's 3.4 built is there not?
Let me know when you want a side tag to build it in rawhide.

7.10.1.20150511 quick build seems to succeed on F22 ppc64, ppc64le,
s390, and s390x.

Yes, but llvm-3.4 is too old for ghc-7.10.
I am planning to do a llvm35 package for F23 for this.
--- Additional comment from Jens Petersen on 2015-05-21 14:57:12 JST ---
So to summarize the current problems are on ARM:
armv7: needs llvm-3.5.[12]
aarch64: ld.gold makes configure fail (bug 1215546)
(perhaps can patch to use ld.bfd - though that has other problems)
- there may be more problems lurking behind that...
Though 7.10.1 seems to build ok on aarch64 (like 7.8.4).
