After installing ifluatex, you then get this error:
[thoraxe@t510dora sme]$ pandoc -o sme-meeting-130429.pdf sme-meeting-130429.md 
pandoc: Error producing PDF from TeX source.
! LaTeX Error: File `pdftex.def' not found.

l.131 ...d{ver@\Gin@driver}{\input{\Gin@driver}}{}

Which is provided by:
texlive-pdftex-def

And after installing that, it finally works.

Looks like there are some dependency chains here not met well.
