Hi,
There was a small Haskell SIG meeting at Flock 2016 where we talked a little about current workflow and plans for F26.
Anyway while procrastinating on fixing the remaining F25 deps breakage, I spent a little time test-building with ghc-8.0.1 for F26... below are my results.
I realized also at Flock that bundling missing libraries might be feasible workaround for updating packages with missing deps though it is a little tedious (and tricky to automate the packaging).
The following packages will need some work to build under ghc-8.0:
Agda (f25 too) cabal-install (missing deps) - blocker obviously darcs (f25 too) snap-* -> hakyll happstack-server hledger-lib geniplate uuid -> git-annex HSH (could be retired perhaps?) warp -> scotty shelly hlint idris (also f25)
I bumped quite a number of packages for transformers-0.5, base-4.9, time-1.6 etc
Overall not too bad already. Unfortunately stack's source is not in haskell-platform-8.0.1. I also want to do the llvm37 review so that ghc can be built in koji.
Will try to call for more help soon. :)
Thanks, Jens
