See bug 977764. Then we found that Malayalam language Orthography coverage is FULL for FreeSerif.ttf and Lohit-Malayalam.ttf but Meera.ttf is not having complete coverage. See "missingValues":"U+0d44 (ൄ), U+0d62 (ൢ), U+0d63 (ൣ), U+0d70 (൰), U+0d71 (൱), U+0d72 (൲), U+0d73 (൳), U+0d74 (൴), U+0d75 (൵)" Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): lohit-malayalam-fonts-2.5.3-1.fc19.noarch smc-meera-fonts-5.0.1-5.fc19.noarch How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Meera is defualt with 90% coverage Expected results: should have Lohit Malayalam as a default as it covers 100% glyphs. Thanks for the workaround of ibus-qt. BTW I found this happening too on some Wine apps, but installing ibus-qt does not fix it.
