I think this is an ibus issue.
Currently IBus runs /usr/libexec/ibus-dconf and anaconda don't wish to include
Dconf.
The original plan was to move IBus engines to switch DConf to GSettings in IBus
1.6.
Now the default Japanese IME is changed to ibus-anthy and probably we can move
forward to IBus 1.6 and disable ibus-dconf.

--- Comment #2 from fujiwara <tfujiwar(a)redhat.com> ---
Hmm..., I see your request.
But there is another use case.
IBus engines cannot recognize applications but input focuses.
IBus emoji extension accepts to change the IMEs and Super-space switcher dialog
changes input focuses and do not disable emoji typing with focus changes by
default.

Reached Rawhide before the F34 branching, so both F34 & F35 should have the
fix. :)

According to "when enable subpixel in gnome-tweaks" in the original comment,
there might be something wrong in gnome-tweaks or around. reassigning to
gnome-tweaks so far. as it also says "Temporary Resolve" there, it isn't a bug
in fontconfig.

Oh yeah, if you want to get them but you don't use Windows, try their virtual

It would be nice to make extensive uae of mark, mkmk and ccmp features to make
diacritics freely to combine — so-called "dynamic diacritics".

List of google-noto-*-fonts packages with Appstream data issues
Description of problem:
Many international google-noto-*-fonts have invalid Appstream data. This causes
warnings in applications using Appstream, like KDE Discover. It also makes many
appstreamcli commands not work.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Most of them are version 20181223-8.fc33
How reproducible:
Should be easy
Steps to Reproduce:
1. sudo dnf install google-noto-sans-arabic fonts (I will attach a txt file
with the full list of google-noto fonts with this issue)
Actual results:
Running `appstreamcli status` warns "Error while loading the metadata pool:
Many components have been recognized as invalid. See debug output for details."
Verbose output with `appstreamcli status --verbose` is attached in txt file.
Opening KDE Discover creates a warning that "Please make sure that Appstream is
properly set up on your system".
Expected results:
Running `appstreamcli status` reports no errors. Opening KDE Discover shows no
warning.
Additional info:
Removing the specified fonts fixes the issues. I tried force refreshing
appstream cache, rebooting, reinstalling appstream data, etc.
TXT file with list of the violating fonts is attached.
