If the package was downgraded, it would likely be done with the help of epoch,
not by mismatching the Fedora package version and what upstream it's built
from.
Matthias mentions in comment 31 that 1.44 supports new attributes. It's not
clear to me if the new attributes would break pango 1.43 after the downgrade.
I don't see a bit problem with font packages shipping their content in OpenType
Bitmap format, in addition to the existing formats. But to enable font package
maintainers to do that, we need a guidance about the supported tools and
recommended approach to do that, be it with fonttosfnt, fontforge, or something
else.
