ibus-gtk already does. Perhaps ibus-qt could do it too.
I still think that compose and input methods are
more natural input systems than direct Unicode though.
So where’s the place to discuss such things? I’m a hefty user of
C+S+u even
with a compose-aware keymap, and would dislike it not returning.
It is already back as of comment 6. What are you missing? :)
