Addtionally, I think that adding a meta package for connecting to endian-specific packages is a better choice.
For example:
zinnia-tomoe is a meta package. If it is in big-endian arch, It depends on zinnia-tomoe-eb. If it is in little-endian arch, it depends on zinnia-tomoe-el. It is much more convenient for packagers who need to pack something depending on zinnia-tomoe.
