fedora-i18n-bugs list?
by Jens-Ulrik Petersen
While giving a talk on Fedora I18n at the Miniconf at LCA, it occurred
to me that maybe we should have a mailing-list for fedora i18n bugs [1].
Is this something that people would find useful? The I18n Engineering
team at Red Hat have used a mailing-list internally to track all i18n
bugs for a good while and it has been pretty useful for that: so I am
writing this mail to hear if there is interest in a list to follow i18n
bugs for Fedora.
There is also the i18n bugzilla keyword which is also useful for tagging
i18n bugs (though to date we have not used it systematically). However
a mailing-list has the advantage that it receives bugzilla mail when
bugs updated (the list would probably be medium volume), making it
easier to track issues.

Then you probably don't have scim-gtk installed?
Anyway I am sorry it turns out that apparently one of our patches to
bn-itrans is breaking the map in fedora. I should have checked more
carefully before posting - my apologies for using your time on this. :-(
Of course it would be nice if broken maps did not cause scim to segfault.

Yes - you can run for example:
$ GTK_IM_MODULE=scim gedit
to use the scim gtkimmodule instead. That may avoid the scim restart
but it still seems to put scim into a bad state for me where IM does not
work.

I think it may not be a new problem, but I see it anyway with:
m17n-db-1.5.1-2.fc9.noarch
m17n-lib-1.5.1-1.fc9.i386
scim-1.4.7-21.fc9.i386
scim-bridge-0.4.15-4.fc9.i386
scim-m17n-0.2.2-3.fc9.i386
(just listing the fedora base packages here to avoid confusion).
I hear it is also reproducible under Fedora 8.

Is this with Fedora 8? Could you list the output of
rpm -qa scim\* m17n\* | sort
?
If it is reproducible it would be good to file a good in bugzilla.
