GNOME has plans to redesign Region and Languages in gnome-control-center.
I thought it would be good to have more of us look over this and review
it,
so that we can provide early timely feedback on the planned design
changes.

Early open a ticket to keep things on track so that we are planning to
move to the TestdayApp in this cycle. this is a good opportunity to clean
up the test cases too.
= reason =
We ensure our supported languages are working fine on GA. so we all should
join the test event and feedback to improve the release for i18n
experience.
= recommendation/goal =
There should be some tasks to accomplish our test day event.
1. Move to the TestdayApp for tracking the results.
2. Clean up test cases to have efficient testing event.
3. Update the test cases to match the latest behavior on a release.

The [[http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/I18N I18N wiki page]] needs a cleanup
and refresh.
= reason =
Lots of old cruft that should be cleaned up.
= recommendation/goal =
Remove unwanted/obsolete sections/info.
Possibly some could be moved to separate pages or trac tickets if still
needed.
To get a clean simple easy to read/navigate toplevel page.
We may also want to think about hierarchy of pages below.

Hi,
We have xkb layouts and m17n input methods to type Indian languages and both gets installed on GNOME by default. So it always creates confusion for uses that which are input methods and xkb layouts. However with xkb layouts one can't write conjuncts or complex characters.
So it would be nice to have include m17n based input methods only, we discussed it over IRC and its log can be found on https://fedorahosted.org/i18n/ticket/36
Please let us know if anyone has better thoughts.
Thanks,
Anish P.

Hi All,
We did alpha release of Tamil, Assamese and Bengali earlier. During
testing we found following issues.
* Lohit Tamil was not rendering correctly due to issue with auto
hinting in font. [1]
* Lohit Assamese and Bengali fonts conjucts were breaking with Matras. [2]
Both critical bugs are resolved in this version.
Other than this, we did thorough testing of these fonts in Windows
XP. Fixed number of rendering issues with XP.
Few issues still exist [3]. These issues are mentioned in README
file of specific fonts. Planning to resolve these issues in coming release.
Font are available to download from fedorahosted. [5] Need your
help for further testing and making it more perfect. Feel free to report
issues or provide suggestion at github [6] or mailing list.
Thanks to Nilamdyuti Goswami, Shantha Kumar, Felix and capellsk for
testing and providing input.
Regards,
Pravin Satpute
