unable to boot fedora with Err22
by Sriranga(77yrsold)
i have dual boot sata-0 winxp/ubuntu sata-1 Fedora 13 installed.
computer=Dell -optiplex 330 Bios A07 Intel core2 dual,.In the bios setup
unable to set sata-1 as first 1 to boot Fedora. At present Sata-0
is set as 1 as *default by bios*.
I have experience and familiar with bios of Intel pentium models III and IV
whereas this bios of Dell is new to me.
At present I am able to boot only windows and ubuntu -SATA-0 and not
fedora 13-Sata-1 which displayed as Err 22. Valuable solution is requested.

Hi, trouble in fedora media program
by Ravi D. Sharma
Hello everyone,
Its to give attention for fedora media program which i observed in previous
days and wanna your views also.
Some day before a guy Mohd Arshad on 10 July mailed for requesting some
media. Someone says that try next month and also to block the email id as
well. However i was surprised when another email from chennai came after
seven days its 17th July and the media delivered to S.Madan, a college
student from Chennai(Tamil Nadu).
So whats the point to deliver the media(is't request specific? ). However,
wherever you ship the media in india has same cost. I dont know why but this
should be clearout.
-regards,
Ravi

What do you mean by open source here? As far as I understand only software applications/documents can come under this category. Processes, sex life or general outlook may or may not be open :-P

Fwd: Trouble installing Fedora 13
by Rangeen Basu
Dear basu,
after fixmbr using Winxp tried to re- install fedora 13 successfully
installation completed with direction to reboot. After removing
DVD(fedora13) tried to reboot. But windows menu shows Winxp and ubuntu
but not showed Fedora.
What is the commandline to fix fedora boot sector similar to fixmbr
for Winxp. Using LiveCD is it possible to fix boot sector of Fedora13
and if so step by step to be followed may kindly be informed.

Only Fedora13 Experts have to solve the problem. I followed installation guide but failed. Is there hopes of any solution for this peculiar problem. I am living at Bangalore in the Malleswaram area.

Successfully Installed Fedora13 failed to boot?
by Sriranga(77yrsold)
Hello,
After " fixmbr" using Winxp Recovery CD tried to re- install fedora 13 -
was successfully installation completed with direction to reboot. After
removing
DVD(fedora13) tried to reboot.
Instead of display of Fedora boot menu/Grub -displayed only WinXP and
Ubuntu to select as usual.
then using LiveCD - again rebooted and selected last item viz local boot
installation - then only only windows menu shows Winxp and ubuntu only *but
excluded Fedora*.
I am wondering why Fedora unable to boot or display of its Grub- inspite of
announced that " "Congratulations! Fedora 13 was successfully installation
completed with direction to reboot"
Where I made a mistake inspite of attempted two times to re-install.
Valuable guidance is solicted since I am newbie to Fedora.
Awaiting valuable solution to my email address "withblessings(a)gmail.com"
will appreciated.

Re: [fedora-india] [dgplug-users] WordGroupz - a personal vocabulary building app, http://gitorious.org/wordgroupz
by Ratnadeep Debnath
Hi,
Thanks Tonmoy for reporting the bugs and putting up the wishlist.
As for now, I fixed some bugs in wordGroupz like redundancy in the
get_group combobox, inappropriate resize of vpan on window resize.
I also added edit and save options to edit the details of the existing
words.
Thanks to Bamacharan for writing a patch for the search bar.
With these new changes, wordGroupz v0.2 is released.
I'll feel elated if anyone becomes interested to test the app
and submit bug reports and other suggestions.
You can download the wordGroupz source from
http://gitorious.org/wordgroupz
Thanks,

Just a thought !
by Bijit
Hi All,
Every release of Fedora comes with new features, tools which are really
cool. I just have thought, Is it possible to have a mp3 player with the
default installation of Fedora say in Fedora-13. Since .mp3 is the very
popular format, so it would have been nice to have a player shipped with
default installation of Fedora considering the large community of music
lovers :-).

*Thanks,

request for solution to re-install fedora 13.which failed for four times in WinXP
by Sriranga(77yrsold)
just now - with help of Xanadros 4 (trial version) - I was able to
restored the partition which was unformatted at the time of
re-installation by Fedora LiveCD - *back to NTFS forma*t after checked the
contents of every drive with help of *browser* button of partition table of
Xandros - *before* installing Xandros and make sure that data of WinxP are
safe and then cancelled installation of xandros. In WinXP I noticed that
new drive formed as F for NTFS (in place of fedora13). Problem of recovering
the drive F( *31.8GB*) was thus solved. For Installing Fedora13 how much
free space is required without any problem?
computer = Dell OS = WinxP plus ubuntu10.04(using *wubi*.exe).
