A suggestion to promote Free Media

Hello All, I found that contributors of Fedora are trying hard to drive the free media Program . I recently found the mail requesting contribution to free media Program. Rather having to mail the CD/DVD with mailing charges, they can send the CD/DVD to places near by . Is that mandatory that a Ambassador should drive free media program ? All the people who are available with the CD/DVD media can enrol themselves to that media distribution program , If a person from that locality request free media , we can point them to the resource holding person , so that the request is satisfied . I am also interested in Free media program , I feel this . Please suggest me if I am wrong. Regards, Arun Prakash

Hi, I had scheduled to conduct a one-day Free Software workshop on the following topics at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, India [1] on Saturday, October 2, 2010, but, had to cancel the trip in the last moment: * di-git-ally-managing-love-letters: Session on git [2] * i-want-2-do-project. tell-me-wat-2-do-fedora [3] * Packaging RPM (Fedora) [4] Today, I coordinated with their lab system administrator to try to install and get IRC working [5] from the computers in the seminar hall and the labs through their proxy, so we could possibly do an online IRC training session in #fedora-india channel. It has been done now! I would appreciate if there are more people who can also join in as trainers for the online sessions between 0930 and 1700 IST on Saturday, October 2, 2010, in case, I face Internet connectivity problems or power failures in Hyderabad. Hi All, I am trying to cross compile GTK+ in hawkboard (www.hawkboard.org) I have already cross compiled the following successfully for hawkboard: atk fontconfig freetype glib libxml2 pixman Now when I try to cross compile cairo, configure gives the following error: configure: error: Cairo requires at least one font backend. Small problem with Panel

I think there's a little problem with the bottom panel in Fedora 13. The problem occurs when you : 1. Right click bottom panel --> Properties --> Uncheck Expand. 2. Restart System Symptom : Upon restart, The bottom panel is oriented 'Top' and is aligned just below the top panel. Also, the Trash and Workspace Switcher are aligned left in the already unexpanded panel. realigning and restarting doesn't solve the problem. If anyone else faces the same issue, respond please.
