Hi Kamalendu,

I *was* also confident like you after using Redhat 6.0 to Fedora 14 since Feb 2000.

I faced the exact problem.

Solution - Create some free space on the Hard Disk and install Ubuntu and softlink the home directory under fedora to home directory under Ubuntu.

That is exactly what I have done.

I still have the Fedora in the same state, if anyone still wants to help, I am still game, but this email I am writing on Ubuntu.

Just for info, I use LXDE on Fedora and also on Ubuntu. So in case some one wants to help be sure that you have a upgraded (from 14 to 15) working copy of LXDE on your machine.

with Regards,
Ashwin

I was trying to upgrade from fedora-14 to fedora-15 online

I was so confident with fedora that I didnot maintain any backup.

Everything had gone well with command preipgrade

At the last stage the procees stopped as "A fatal error ..... gnome ...."
exctly I cannot remember.

Now after rebooting I find three options at bootloader.

1. UPGRADE TO FEDORA 15 (LOVESTOCK)

2. FEDORA (2.6.35.13-92-FC14.I386)

3. FEDORA (2.6.35.6-45-FC14.I386)

None of the options are opening.

While I try with option – 1

I am asked for ^D (Control D)

Then I am asked for root password.

Then it opens on text mode.

Now what I have to do? I am in trouble – all my files would be lost.
