boot.fedoraproject.org
by Jon Masters
Hi,
I thought I'd just point out that the links on the front page of
boot.fedoraproject.org aren't very obvious. It's not clear that they're
not standard navigation links for the Fedora Project as opposed to the
bits you need for BFO. I suggest (if I may) adding something in the text
under the screenshot calling out the links on the left side of the page.
I myself found those links by Googleing "boot.fedoraproject.org" after I
just assume the links on the page were generic includes in the HTML/CSS.

Nagios event handlers
by Mike McGrath
In an effort to further hide the fas issues we've been running into I've
added an event handler to the app servers. A brief description of the
problem is when fas hangs, app server httpd processes stack up. When they
do they become unresponsive.
Currently nagios does this on failure:
Failed check 1: nothing (Soft)
Failed check 2: nothing (Soft)
Failed check 3: Send notification (hard)
Once it hits that hard state, nagios claims its dead. We get paged, the
alert shows up in #fedora-noc. Doom.
Now what it does is this:
Failed check 1: nothing (Soft)
Failed Check 2: send notification to #fedora-noc, issue a service httpd
reload
Failed Check 3: Send paged / emailed notifications, issue a service httpd
restart
This is a very different change from how things were and as such we should
track this closely. The reason for the notification issue to #fedora-noc
is to ensure things aren't auto-correcting without us knowing. But at the
same time we're not generating a lot of un-needed email / paged alerts.
I'm going to let this run for a while and lets see how it goes.
pkgdb, for whatever reason, has always been an excellent canary which is
why I'm checking it.
Questions / comments?

Transifex upgrade
by Gianluca Sforna
Hi,
the Italian translation team is discussing how to improve its workflow
and it seems newer transifex versions would greatly help with tracking
translation status of the various modules we deal with.
Is it correct the upgrade to 0.9 or even 1.0 is delayed by the lack of
someone to actually do the work or there are other technical issues?
thanks
Gianluca

RFR: OpenLDAP test day
by Jan Zelený
Hello everyone,
in compliance with RFR how-to on Fedora wiki page, I'd like to draw your
attention to RFR ticket, which I created:
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/2412
Me and couple of my colleagues are organizing a test day and to get optimal
results, we need a couple servers where we can prepare a part of testing
environment. I was told, that getting these servers in a form of virtual
machines should not be difficult and that I need to follow these RFR guidelines.
Please review the referenced ticked and let me know whether we can get those
virtual machines for the next week.
Thank you in advance

Major Outage
by Tajidin Abd
Infrastructure
approximately around 0730 UTC or 0930 CEST there was a major outage with FAS
unable to access. Im sure you already will see when you check nagios. Just
also wanted to give heads up about what was going on. Seems as though
everything that was offline is working again. I can access FAS again.
