hosted to rhel6
by Jon Stanley
Because of the ongoing pain with fedorahosted, now that the RHEL6 beta
is available, I'm going to work really hard this weekend on getting
RHEL6 whipped into shape with:
1) A kickstart
2) Packages that we need in hosted that are not in RHEL proper (trac
comes to mind immediately, I'm sure there's a few more)
This gives us the benefit of being able to run a more modern trac (and
close the attendant tickets for plugins that won't work in 0.10), and
generally alleviates a good deal of pain that we've been seeing. It
also gets us a bzr upgrade, which aiui is an incompatible on-disk
format??? Toshio can you elaborate? The SCM versions that we pick up
in RHEL6 are (all of these are in RHEL proper now):
cvs-1.11.23-9.el6.x86_64
bzr-2.0.2-1.1.el6.x86_64
git-1.6.5.2-1.2.el6.x86_64
mercurial-1.4-1.el6.2.x86_64
subversion-1.6.6-1.1.el6.x86_64

nagios-plugins
by Mike McGrath
If you're going to update one of our hosts please exclude all of the
nagios plugins, at the moment the most recent version requires nagios,
which pulls httpd and a bunch of other deps. See bug 469530 for progress.

[MERGE] Handle groups more gracefully in Django
by Stephen Gallagher
This supersedes the patch I sent earlier today.
I tested this by manually modifying the user database and confirming
that FAS overrode all settings I made locally, either removing or adding
group memberships as appropriate.
When the groups are unchanged, we will only require a single lookup into
the database, as opposed to one per group the user was a member of.
It also addresses a bug where users whose group membership was revoked
would still appear to be a member within Django apps.

ReviewBoard Performance Enhancement
by Stephen Gallagher
I have built a new version of ReviewBoard which will hopefully solve the
performance issues we were seeing on Hosted.
On PT9, the upstream patch I pulled into this release reduced my login
time from 10-12s (as measured by yslow) to 2-4 seconds. I'm hoping it
will have roughly the same effect on hosted.
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/ReviewBoard-1.5-6.beta1.el5
Basically, the upstream patch fixed a long-standing issue where
ReviewBoard was making a separate DB call for every resource that the
dashboard (the UI) uses. This patch reduces the number of calls
significantly, instead opting for grabbing a wider selection of the data
all at once.
