ticket#2673 - nitrate deployment
by James Laska
Greetings,
I am in search of sponsorship for hosting space to deploy a test
instance of nitrate [1]. Some of you may recall several years back when
we deployed an instance of Testopia. That exploration was cut short
when we discovered license incompatibilities between testopia and
Fedora. At that time, a small group of Red Hat associates began
creating a new Django-based test management system to remove the
components that had conflicting licenses. That new system became
nitrate [1].
The Fedora QA team would like to experiment/explore this newer
Django-based test management system. At the very least, I believe we'll
need a publicly accessible server where we can host the nitrate instance
and a mysql database for it.
I filed ticket#2673
(https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/2673) to track
this request. Please don't hesitate with any
questions/comments/concerns.
Thanks,
James

proposal: stop using servergroups in puppet
by Seth Vidal
I'd like to propose that we stop using servergroups as a subdir in our
puppet manifests dir.
proposal is just:
move all .pp files over to 'services' and remove servergroups subdir
entirely.
justification:
1. the distinction between servergroups and services is..... blurry.
2. the actual usage difference between them is confused - if only b/c
we have things which could be services in servergroups and servergroups
in services.
3. the distinction doesn't actually buy us anything we don't get with
just services.
alternative proposal:
- since services tend to be module-represented in puppet more than in
manifests, we could move to having:
manifests/
nodes <-- actual node definitions like we have now
attributes <-- attributes nodes can include (essentially
services but with a less confusing name vis-a-vis our modules/*
services)
Thoughts?

by tao shu
Hi ALL!
Some of the problems encountered when I compiled eclipse-3.6.2 on
RHEL6,I was updated the dependes(ant and so on),after execute the
command "ant" successful,but ->
error Could not open %file
/root/rpmbuild/BUILD/eclipse-build-master/eclipse-swt.install : No

I think it took an error when execute the eclispe.spec line 238.
And it not generate libswt*.so when ececute the command "ant".
I don't how to fix it.

puppet01 -> lockbox01
by Kevin Fenzi
Just a heads up:
I am going to be migrating puppet01 to lockbox01 this morning.
This may mean puppet will not be available, etc.
Downtime should be pretty short.
Progress/status will be in #fedora-noc.
If anyone would prefer I reschedule, let me know, but I don't think we
have anything scheduled this morning that would interfere.
Thanks,
kevin

intel wifi link 5100 hangs on
by Hüvely Balázs
Hi All!
I have a big and old problem with my toshiba satellite notebook's wifi.
The original wifi card was a realtek, which is always freezed, so after
a few months I decided to replace that card to an intel one. I searched
the net for full supported wifi card, and I found that intel wifi link
5100 will be the good choice for linux.
I get the interface, installed to my computer, and everything was fine
for a little time.
Now my problem is the card after few minutues or an hour hangs on. I
tried to associate the card again to my AP, but no success. I look after
for my dmesg, and here below my results:

Is there any workaround or fix for my card?
Additional info, my card is placed my notebook sorrounded by pastic
parts, and there is no possibility to cool down the interface. Maybe
it's overheated.
Any suggestion? How I will able to use this card normally?
Thanks: Balazs
