Fedora 18 Final freeze in effect
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
we are now in the infrastructure freeze leading up to the Fedora 18
Final release. This is a full freeze.
Please see:
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/browser/architecture/Envir...
Anything in the full freeze box is frozen until 2013-01-08 (or
later if Final release further slips). This means there should be NO
changes to any hosts in there (including global ones) without
signoff of the change from at least 2 folks in sysadmin-main and/or
release-engineering.
Thanks,
kevin

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction John Paul P. Doria
by John Paul Doria
Dear Fedora Team,
Please find my personal details below:
Name: John Paul P. Doria
Time Zone / Country: UTC+8 Philippines
Basic Skills and Experiences: I have knowledge in UNIX System Administration as I had worked as a L2 System Administrator at one project being serviced by Hewlett-Packard - Philippines and we were focusing on these particular UNIX flavors: HP-UX, Red Hat, and AIX. I have been already using these systems since 2010 especially HP-UX and Red Hat, but I can say I am more comfortable on working with Red Hat (or Fedora since they are almost the same). Also, I am using a Fedora 17 OS on my personal laptop. The reasons are: I want to explore, I want to dig deeper and learn more about Red Hat or Fedora. Currently, I am working as a Release Engineer at Manulife Financial - Philippines. I just started there last November 5 of this year. We are using Solaris as the base OS and the application is IBM Rational ClearCase for our code deployment to different environments.
Why am I joining?
The reasons are simple. I want to learn all things about Linux System Administration and help other people working for this project by means of contributing something what I believe is good for this. I am not saying I know everything about Linux. No, I just want to share opinions or work with other's opinion to make their plans come true. This is a community and a community would not become a community if there is only one person and there are no people working together. I want to be a part of Fedora. I want to contribute even a small thing here which I believe will also make this operating system extraordinary.
What am I looking to do?
I have always loved the responsibilities of the UNIX System Administrator. I would love to be a part of the group that focuses on administration. I still want to explore and learn different things and help other aspiring administrators as well.
How much time you can contribute (usually hours per week)?
I can always give my 4 hours of the week to this and I will try to work more than that if I don't have priorities in my day job and personal life. :)
Respectfully yours,
John Paul P. Doria

Proposal: decommision fedoracommunity/stats running on app07
by Seth Vidal
Hi,
We have one remaining RHEL5 host - app07. It is being kept alive in order
to keep running the fedoracommunity/stats page. After talking with Luke
about it I went looking through the http logs for fedoracommunity on
app07. In the last year the number of connections hitting a url
mentioning 'statistics' page is 1994. In the last 3 months the number is
15.
In the last 2 months the number is 0.
I think it is not helping up to keep this one oddball host around for
this. I'd like to suggest we decomm community/statistics and either
rebuild app07 as rhel6 or just terminate it.
Is there any thing about doing this that we need to be concerned with? any
additional worries as to what's on app07 or what is using the
community/statistics page that I'm not thinking of?
Thanks,
-sv

[Change Request] Add fedmsg certs for pkgdb
by Toshio Kuratomi
threebean has added fedmsg hooks for pkgdb. I'm making a new release for
stg that includes this. However, fedmsg needs to have certs installed for
the app-host combination in order to sign the messages each service emits.
There's not currently a way to add certs to only stg, the same certs are
pushed to both stg and production.
I'd like to create the certs for pkgdb-app* and put them into the repo.
They will get installed onto both the stg and production servers. They
should just be additional certs and thus shouldn't touch the existing cert
files for other services. The certs will be unused on production as the
pkgdb there will not be updated until after freeze.
Could I get two +1's to go ahead with this?

freeze break request: staging monitoring script
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
I'd like to look at adding the script that arielb (and others before)
have been working on to mail us info weekly about modules we have in
staging.
This is: https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/3293
It's a simple shell script and cron job that would mail once a week to
the list.
Currently, I am thinking we just have it report each module and a
diffstat from production, so we can see what things are in there and
what things have lots of changes. This will help remind us about things
in staging we need to move on over, etc.
Thoughts? +1s?

break freeze request: fix ticket 3469
by Matt Domsch
Ticket 3469 (https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/3469) notes that an extra / is present in the mirrorlist for files such as the EPEL GPG key. This happens because the mirrorlist CGI is inserting an extra / in the path, when the file is in the "topdir" (e.g. pub/epel, pub/fedora/linux) of a given category. This fix should prevent it from adding the extraneous / in such a case.
