Dear all, As you may know, over the last few weeks I have been working on a small project called (for the moment) cnucnu web. You can already see it in place at: http://209.132.184.188/cnucnu/ The idea is to provide a web-interface to the release monitoring script that is being run for the moment via the wiki: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upstream_release_monitoring So this web-application replaces the wiki page, allows mapping of projects into linux distributions and anyone with an OpenID account can contribute to it. On the back, there is a cron job that runs, check for new version of the project with the information provided and send a message on fedmsg for every new version found. The idea is to host the project on the Fedora infrastructure but, I would prefer not have it under the fedoraproject.org name as I see it as a broader project than just for Fedora: Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, Slack, Suse, we all can benefit from this. I also would like to have it broadcast messages on the debian version of fedmsg (I'm already in contact with Olsad for this). So, what I would like to ask is: * what do you think of the project? Worth pursuing or not? * Where should it live? * Domain name suggestions? (release-monitoring.org, cnucnu.org, cnucnuweb.org, <insert here you own idea>?) So if we agree to get it up and running, I foresee few steps: * Check with legal if there are any limitations (ie: can we put non-FOSS projects in there?) * Get the domain name * Update the UI: we already have a design but I think it could be made nicer (especially the front page) -- Any volunteers? * Deploy it and see w/ Debian how to have it send messages onto their bus * Set the DNS to point to the website I will start the first step now already. December status update for Fedora Infrastructure Apprentices

Has it helped you decide any area you wish to focus on or contribute to more? 3. 2014 dreaming

Greetings. I meant to send this out sooner, but with the Fedora 20 release things have been crazy. :) Now that we are nearing the end of 2013, I think it might be a nice time to think ahead to next year. What would you love to see happen? What would you like to work on making happen? (even if it's not practical resource wise or logistically) Here's a list of some of mine: * 0 downtime upgrades. By this I mean we can update and reboot all our servers (probibly in some specific order with specific actions between) and not have to schedule any downtime or notify users anything is going on. This means at least that we have db replication/failover working and 2 of everything. * Migration to ansible fully done, with all hosts moved over and rebuilt and working. * Migration to RHEL7. :) * Ticket queue down to a very small set. When I first started it was gigantic, then I closed/fixed/redirected a lot of the ticket and we started going down in number, but over the last year or so we have hovered between 140-150. * Migration to hyperkitty/mailman3 complete with all lists moved. * All hosts selinux enforcing. :) * No "app" servers left. All applications split out to their own (at least pair) of instances. * Logging from every app/server goes to a known place and we process them all looking for problems. I'll probibly think of some more, will send them to this thread when I do. So how about you? Any big dreams for 2014? Hopefully we can make at least some of them real. kevin

Git-python patch for working with GPG signed commits

Hi, A few months ago, we noticed that the current git-python version did not work with GPG signed commits[1]. Upstream's[2] been dead for almost 8 months now. There is however a pull request that adds support for GPG signed commits[3]. Since upstream is dead, and the pull request will not be accepted until someone steps up to revive the project, should I file a bug and request the Fedora maintainer to carry the patch? Would that be preferred over infra carrying a hotfix? I think it'll be good to request package maintainers to GPG sign their commits[4]. Admin of Copr

We had recently first legal issue on Copr and I had to remove one project. And because of Christmas it took me 2 days to notice it. Currently there are just two admins of Copr. It would be nice if there can be more admins. Admin can then access: http://copr.fedoraproject.org/admin/ And delete projects where legal flag has been raised. If somebody from infra want to become admin, please reply to this email.
