Hello Infrastructure Team,

 

I am Suresh, 33 years old from Hyderabad, a city in the southern part of
India. 

 

I am a telecommunications engineer with over 12 years of experience in
the field of converged / unified communications. I am currently employed
with Avaya (a spinoff of AT&T / Bell labs / Lucent).

 

My daily work revolves around troubleshooting complex problems escalated
by in-house Level 3 engineers. A lot of my time is spent in the lab
reproducing 'customer reported' problems and studying communication
protocols like ISDN, H.323, SIP etc . 

 

A majority of our applications are based on RHEL (2.6.18-128) and so I
am good at Linux system administration. I do not write code, but
someday, I think I will get to it. I am currently preparing for my RHCE
exam and I am also trying to learn some serious scripting so I can use
that knowledge in my workplace.

 

What can I offer to this group? - I am willing to start with anything
that the group believes I can do.

 

As for the meetings, I think I'll just watch for a while and start
contributing when I am ready.

 

I am excited at the prospect of working with this group and I look
forward to hearing from you all.
