We have a proof of concept up and running for the wiki upgrade at:
http://webtest.fedora.redhat.com/wiki
We've got a little bit of work to do in testing, the two sites do look different.
We need the web guys (and maybe the doc guys?) to look at the website and see what needs to be done and report whats broken. This is something we'd like to get out by the end of February so it will be ready for the Fedora 7 release.
Patrick: Who from the website team would be a good point person to coordinate the upgrade with?

On the new wiki we have applied some wiki/foo to enhance the usability of the website. For more info, refer to:

There is still some work to be done to "get it right". The page where the migration is coordinated is:

I think end of February is a feasible target; although Paulo Santos (who handles the migration and has access to make changes) is the man to answer this. :)

The icon to make external links stand out sticks out sorely. We probably could use another icon or something else to differentiate.

Also, I still do not see "Attachments" option under "more actions" drop down menu: http://webtest.fedora.redhat.com/wiki
It's odd that status shows "Done" at: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/WikiMigration
Regards,
Hi Thomas,
The attachment link isnt in the drop down menu anymore. It is something that needs to be modified manually on the theme template. This was "done" indeed. But as you can probably see, the testing wiki got updated, so my changes were also overwriten. But this is not a big deal, since the link is just a line that needs to be added to the template, since the actual feature is working.
Test with http://webtest.fedora.redhat.com/AnyPageYouWant?action=AttachFile Im currently without internet at home, so as soon as i have it back, i'll insert the line again.
Also regarding the actual wiki upgrade, i say that we should upgrade it when everyone feels confortable with the new engine, and happy with the design. So, in my opinion is not me that should say when we migrate, it should be a wide decision by everyone involved.
Thanks, Paulo

Hi, I have updated the missing link for attachements. Let me know if I can help, till Paulo is back online. PS: I notice the bottom toolbar has the "python" link covered by the side bar on short pages like http://webtest.fedora.redhat.com/wiki/AhmedKamal

Is there any easy way to prevent this from happening? I mean, we can test the test wiki all we want but will we have to re-do all the changes again when we do the permanent migration? Is there an easy way to avoid duplication of work?

Yes, we just need to restore the folowing directories inside data: - user (user logins, preferences, etc) - pages (actual wiki pages) and the following files also inside data: - edit-log (for the recent changes page) - view-log (some history about viewed pages, etc - not sure if we want to keep this)
So lets plan the following, do a backup for the described folders and files next week (so that we can idenfify wiki changes), and drop them in webtest. The actual data should be updated, without loosing any modification to the actual engine/plugins/theme.
What you guys think ?
Paulo
