Trying to install Fedora IoT onto some older embedded X86 SBCs. I see the installer launch, and briefly ‘anaconda’ with some output saying the installer is starting. But then a black/blank screen on my VGA monitor.
What am I doing wrong? The docs I’ve seen don’t really show me, even for rPi.
TIA.

You don't say which hardware, which installation method, or what documentation you followed, so this is generic help. (This is documented at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/iot/physical-device-setup/)
First, verify the hardware is supported:
$ arm-image-installer --supported
Then write a bootable SD card and power on the device. A serial console is probably better for troubleshooting. A different setup procedure is also available: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/iot/ignition/

What is the starting point? It is a generic X86 PC104 SBC. So should I already have Fedora running in it?
I’ve starting with an image burned to a USB stick and booted it. Which it does, then I select “Install” which starts a process. I see the anaconda shell briefly and can alt-tab to a prompt. But then the display goes away and I can no longer see anything.
I’ll take a look at the docs provided today. Thanks
Kit

What is "older embedded", do they have UEFI? If they have a choice of UEFI or traditional BIOS in the firmware? In IoT we only actively support UEFI devices so you''ll need to make sure the devices have that enabled in the firmware.

You don't really tell us what you're doing, even in your follow up mail to be able to determine. Can you give the file name of the image you're writing out to the USB stick?
The standard Fedora install guide should work for the x86 installer images.
