Hi,
I'm confused where is Fedora IoT development is happening and what is current official image building process. Is it in https://pagure.io/fedora-iot/ostree/ but it has not been updated in 5 month, however https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/iot/ have almost daily builds, where are those sourced from? What is current official way to build the images: is it ostree compose, osbuild, coreos assembler, rmp-ostree-engine? Are there any associated official documentation, I seems not being able to find one?
Thanks, -AB.
Hi Aliaksei,
The images up to Fedora 37 have been built with Imagefactory in Koji[1]. For Fedora 38 we're moving to Osbuild[2] for both the disk images and iso installers. Fedora uses a tool called Pungi[3] to control the compose process, and the IoT specific configuration files can be found in Pagure[4].
We currently don't have any documentation around the compose process for IoT that I'm aware of, something we hope to address when we update the IoT docs for Fedora 38 and the move to osbuild.
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, Paul
