Hi there I would like to help in developing the project iptraf-ng because I write a similar thesis in computer science (rather than using raw sockets I use the library libpcap). I could help in creating packages for Debian and CentOS if you do not mind. If you have questions, please feel free to write. If not then I can start to create packages for the above distributions.

Hello, that will be awesome. See bug in debian http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=579924. For CentOS just pick up a spec in git (and modify?). When iptraf-ng lands into fedora I will create epel branch for rhel6.
