Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:
Conversation with people of #fedora-social that abuse me, commenting non-
related facts of my country with a answer about fedora russian and skype
and other person making remarks about that es language is "Mexican't" and
I speak "You say spinach I say Mexican't" and a non polite attitude.-
They +q mode 2 times with excuses without a real fundament. Fenris02 start
a conversation about crimes and war in my country for a example of the non
legal in my country (i was asking for legal terms of fedora russian
compiling Skype in koji).
I respond with "read plan condor", that involves CIA and my country about
crimes and war, so... +q applied to me. I mentioned nigger word in ironic
mode, because i felt the racist or no tolerant of the US soul with Latin
people, for the comment of Evilbob like '''"<EvilBob> nix\: As long
as you don't claim to be American, we will be OK"''' WHAT IS IT?, 100%
pure racism, why I'm not american?, I'm what?, sudaca?, chicano?, What
Bob?.. Sorry but I'm american, America is a continent, United States a
country. I feel that Evilbob and fenris02 have some intolerance to the bad
english or non US people of regions like south america, arabic and black
people. Before the incident, Evilbob be offended because a user say "bro",
and he clear me in fedora-social that bro is used by a ethnicity in US (i
know that afro people), so, WHY offend you?, what is the problem of Bob
Jensen with the black people?.
Other thing, I sended a Email to fenris02, because he no allow pm or
notices, and he respond me in the fedora-social again, acussing me of say
that HE is racist, the mail is at your disposal if you wish look it. I
only seek for a explanation of the mistreat with my person and expose of
history of my country, a bad piece of the history for a question about
fedora.
Today, one night later, again, DiscordianUK +q me because he say: "I
suggest you stop the whingeing", BUT the start of the conversation is by
fenris02 in answer to my Email, so, I disturbing?, i don't think so.
Sorry for my bad english but i speak natively spanish, if no can
understand the ticket tell me and I translate with a professional
traductor in 24 hours. I want that the fact is clarified. I want help,
promote and support fedora, no support abuse of intolerant people.

Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction:

----
Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback: More tolerance for other languages, countries and
ethnicities that no speak english properly and no teasing constantly. No
mix personal thing or Country things with Fedora or technician stuff.
----
Any additional notes or logs:
Yes, i have the entire log, attach the log of #fedora-social channel and
mark with >>> the begin of the problem.

Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:
When a member joins #fedora, they are redirected to #fedora-unregistered
if unregistered / unidentified. This leads to confusion on the new joiners
part. This also forces the community to maintain a second channel for the
sole purpose of explaining that people need to register to join the main
channel.
Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction:
Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback:
Instead, users should be allowed to join the channel, and be muted by
default, they can then speak once they identify. This stops bots /
spammers. This also removes the need to maintain a second channel. This
also does cause new joiners to think they are in the right channel when in
fact they are not. Currently ##systemadmins on freenode has this automated
and it works great.
Any additional notes or logs:

Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:
Upon raising legitimate issues regarding Fedora security, a few users such
as EvilBob and fenrus02 resort to personal attacks, mockery and insults
(not strong language, but still insulting), e.g.: being told to visit a
mental health professional. They also repeatedly claim they've already
answered or that I don't know what I'm talking about when it's clearly not
the case, tell others I'm trolling in some way or another and offer
unconstructive advice like "you're free to use something other than
Fedora" or "fix it" while being ignorant of the issue being raised. There
seem to be no attempts at moderating discussion from channel staff.
Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction:
EvilBob
fenrus02
Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback:
Moderate discussion and create a friendly environment. Those who answer
should attempt to understand and acknowledge an issue even if not relevant
to them personally.
Any additional notes or logs:
This behavior creates the impression that the Fedora community is
uninterested in and ignorant of particular kinds of security issues.

Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:
The user "EvilBob" is frequently rather hostile towards users, sometimes
engaging in personal attacks. Each isolated incident taken on its own is
often not too bad, but I've grown very weary of seeing it happen again and
again. I figure I'll start logging them here, with logs attached, unless
you'd prefer that I not do so. In this particular case, a user had been
asking questions about verifying the authenticity of rpmfusion RPMs, and
EvilBob eventually said (after having been silent for the majority of the
conversation) "At this point I suggest you seek professional help" and
"I'm sure there is a psychiatrist in your neighborhood." IMO, that kind
of thing simply doesn't belong in #fedora. Again, if it were an isolated
incident I probably wouldn't think twice about it, but it's a common
occurrence. I'll attach the logs of this particular conversation.
Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction:
EvilBob, Eduard_Munteanu
Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback:
I'd appreciate it if EvilBob were asked by an op to try and adhere to the
channel's "Be Polite" and "Avoid Flaming" guidelines. Times are in GMT-5,
on 2014.07.09
Any additional notes or logs:
attached; lines 24-25 and 44, specifically. I trimmed out unrelated
JOIN/PARTs and also one unrelated question which was asked in the middle
of the discussion.

I have recently been taking part in ##chanops and I have noticed how
useful AntiSpamMeta seems to be. I would like to suggest we invite
AntiSpamMeta to our channels. It basically keeps track of what channels
people are in, and how many times/when/where from people were
kicked/banned/quieted/etc so that ops can tell if a user has been a
problem in other channels in the past.

Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket: I was trying to solve problem on #fedora. I left a bouncer so I
could reboot while keeping the messages. But then EvilBob corrected me
about excessive nick changes (away nick changer from Cysioland to
Cysioland|OFF). I think it was excessive, because it was the same amount
of spam as if parting and joining the channel instead of bouncing.
Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction: [SLB],
he said that I'm right.
Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback: EvilBob apologizing to me and not behaving like that
again.
Any additional notes or logs: Will attach when asked, I was using a
bouncer, so it's all logged.
