I wouldn't say that, really. I don't think anyone is going to make a
D-BUS service for exposing Apache configuration, for example. That's
not to say it wouldn't be neat if it just happened, but I think it would
be of less value than some other things we could be spending time on.

I think Robin's correct; your best bet now is just to invoke rpm.
Alternatively there might be Java bindings to the librpm.
