Hi,
Why does Android Development require JDK 7? Maybe we can fix it so
that you
don't need to install a third party JDK.
I believe Android Studio that is based on Intellij is hitting the issues
of swing and awt having
bugs/issues that affects Intellij too thus they recommend using Java 7
and even Java 6 if you want
to have best experience.
But afaik they *should* run with Java 8. What errors are you getting ?
To solve it though you should be able to setup the actual javavm in the
eclipse.ini you launch with.
