Why would you want to? What I'd other developers want to depend

other artifacts? Is there a problem with keeping them?
I just don't want to expose this internal structure. After all, isn't
this the very idea with what seemingly is called an über-jar?

über-jars can go against the spirit of maven (that's not to say there isn't
a use for them) as they cause problems for dependency management. I'd just
think that there should be a good reason for excluding those artifacts, so
you don't have to force people to use the über one.
