Can I tie <Super> to Kmenu?
by Arthur Pemberton
I would like to have the Super key bring up the menu (I think it's
still called Kmenu, not sure).
Previously, Alt+F1 would do this, but no more.
Also, with the current version of the keyboard settings, it wasn't
immediately obvious to me how I would bind any shortcut to launch the
menu as there didn't seem to be a component listed for it.

login with kdm and home directories on nfs4
by Martin (KDE)
Hallo,
I don't know if this is kde specificm but I try if here.
My home directorys are stored on a NFS4 server and can are mounted by
netfs script. the sub directories are accessable by the corresponding
user and everything is fine - most of the time.
After a reboot the first login fails with the error message "can not
change to home directory. Using / instead" and i get lots of messages
from selinux in /var/log/messages:
"setroubleshoot: SELinux hindert kdm (xdm_t) "mount" am Zugriff auf
nfs_t. For complete SELinux messages. run sealert -l
82ea4c8a-4442-492f-8e11-f831b24821b4"
which says something like SELinux prevents kdm (xdm_t) "mount" to
access nfs_t. The sealert result is not very informative for me.
Yesterday I switched from NFSv3 to NFSv4. There were no such Problems
with NFSv3.
If this is not the right list, dan you please guide me to the right
one?
Kindly
Martin

What would give you that feeling? It works just great.
The only problem I have yet discovered is that when I send mail, it sends it
right into my inbox, then I have to click on it and resend, then it is ok.

Backends for okular
by Mary Ellen Foster
My husband (who really should just subscribe to this list himself at
this point ... :) ) noticed today that, if you go to "Configure
Backends" in Okular (kdegraphics-4.1.85 from kde-redhat), the only
backend that shows up is Ghostscript. Shouldn't Poppler be in there as
well?
NB: PDF rendering does work find, although the quality is not entirely
beautiful (why he checked the backend config in the first place).
Thanks,
MEF

KDE 4.x : Questions about "power" buttons
by Arthur Pemberton
1) KDE 4.x has been out for awhile, and I still have to click
shutdown|restart twice, I was kinda hoping that would be fixed by
now... anyone know the status of this?
2) Is it at all possible to remove (or a per profile or install level)
the suspend buttons? Every now and then I accidentally click the
suspend to disk button and nothing good comes of it on my desktop
machine.

powerdevil interface
by Neal Becker
I'm interested in an amarok script that will put my laptop to sleep after a
specified time. I figure it can probably talk to powerdevil using dbus and be
programmed in python. Any clues where to find info on talking to powerdevil?

Re: Blue Panel
by Paul Vandenberg
Hi,
I found out by accident that the panel for Oxygen is black if the
panel is the default height. Changing the panel height makes it turn
blue. If you change the height back, it goes black again. Probably a
bug somewhere in KDE 4.2 beta 2.
