"Add and Remove Software" slow start
by Martin Kho
Hi,
'Add and Remove Software' from 'System Settings' and standalone takes 25
seconds to open on a full updated fc12 install. This doesn't happen on fc11.
I don't see any errors in the log files.
Does anyone else have experienced this 'slow start'?

Mounting hfsplus filesystems
by Orion Poplawski
When I mount an hfsplus filesystem on Fedora 12 with KDE, it ends up
with the following permissions:
drwxrwxr-x. 1 nobody nobody 8 2009-11-06 14:29 .
Presumably some combination of uid=, gid=, dir_umask=, file_umask=,
and/or umask= need to get passed to the mount command to make this
readable. uid/gid defaults to the "current process" according to man
mount. Who handles this? KDE or HAL? Is there already a bug? I
couldn't find one.

Konqueror refuses to use open session
by Anne Wilson
I set links from email to open in konqueror, but every link opens a fresh
session of konqueror. Within konqueror, opening in tabs works perfectly, but
external links simply are not working with it.
A quick bugzilla search didn't come up with anything, so do others find the
same thing? Is it a known problem, a bugzilla candidate, or a pebcak?

Eclipse in KDE
by Arthur Pemberton
Across two versions of Fedora now (F10,F11) I have had problems with
keyboard shortcut usage of copy,cut,paste in Eclipse -- and as far as
I know, only Eclipse. My initial Googling suggests that this only
happens in KDE, and the only real solution I have come across so far
is disabling Klipper, which I rather not do. Anyone have a better
solution to the problem? Do I need to file a bug somewhere?
The exact problem is that the shortcuts (seemingly) fail to trigger
their associated actions. Example, Ctrl+C fails to copy the selected
text. Right-click then selecting 'Copy' always seems to work however.
It is quite an annoying problem to have in an IDE.

kded4 problems
by Orion Poplawski
One of our users is having trouble with kded4 going crazy and consuming
100% cpu on coming out of hibernate. Have to kill it with kill -9.
With it gone, everything seems fine.
So, what does kded4 do? Can I configure kde not to start it? Any known
bugs?

RE: Too secure to be practical!
by Patrick Boutilier
This should work:
Copy data from SD card to hard drive, format SD card, copy data back to SD card.

Subject: Too secure to be practical!
I don't recall doing it, much less why, but I have an 8GB SD card containing
data, but it is LUKS encrypted. I can read it here, on Fedora, but it's not
terribly useful, since I can't read it on, for instance, my daughter's Windows
system. There must be some way of removing the encryption? Any hints?

* topics to discuss:
o KDE-4.3.3 state
o Fedora 12 looming soon, remaining issues/blockers?
o constantine-kde-theme-extras, aka packaging Mosaico kdm/ksplash theme?
o VOIP meetings
= Summary =
o KDE-4.3.3 state
* 4.3.3 is imported into devel/ branch
* some remaining issues - kdebindings & kde-l10n doesn't build
** Kevin_Kofler suggest mathstuff hint how to fix kdebindings
** rdieter will fix kde-l10n issues
o Fedora 12 looming soon, remaining issues/blockers?
* a lot of KDE SIG members are using Fedora 12 already
* beta still had the "install to hd link on desktop lacking execute
permission" problem
* "SELinux is preventing the /bin/loadkeys from using potentially mislabeled
files (Documents)." bug [1] added to Fedora 12 blockers tracker
o constantine-kde-theme-extras, aka packaging Mosaico kdm/ksplash theme?
* we agreed we don't want it, if someone is willing to fix issues, we're not
blocking it
* issues:
** KDM colors do not match latest wallpaper
** KSplash rectangles have bad looking shaddows
* jreznik will import old Constantine to SVN
o VOIP meetings
* not for regular meetings (at least for now)
* we try to set conference call from FUDCon
