I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also, search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is kde specific. -gene

Set default background image on Fedora's KDE desktop

Hi, I used following in my kickstart file to set my own background image for a Fedora 14 based remix. But it was not changing the default baground image for KDE Desktop. Still showing Fedora default (default wallpaper of official fedora release) background Image. KDE 4.6 Beta: Icon-cache corrupt?

Hi, I'm running KDE 4.6 beta (rawhide) for a while now and it looks very nice. Thanks for the great work! But I see a few issues. 1. As the subject say the icon-cache gets corrupted, if I interpret the message in .xsession-errors correct: "kde(1471)/kdeui (KIconLoader): Trying to remove an entry which is already invalid. This cache is likely corrupt." 2. dolpin is rather a slow starter (~3-4 sec.). May be related to 1. 3. KMail2 has a long way to go. This version is better than the previous one. It's much more responsive. Notifications still don't work, lots of settings are not saved/used, database corruption (akonadi some times gets crazy) etc. WRT 1(2?): What did I already do? a. I've tried to remove the icon-cache. This temporary 'solves' the issue. b. I created a new user. After a log out/log in the messages start appearing. Did any one else see this, do I have to bz, to what component? Thanks, Martin Kho

digikam does not end on quit

Hallo since my upgrade to F14 digikam continues to run after exit. There is no windows but the process is still there. I have to send a SIGTERM to digikam to get rid of it. Martin

f14 kde-4.3.80 builds in kde-unstable

OK, initial batch of kde-4.5.80 (4.6beta1) builds are in kde-unstable repos. These still cause a handful of broken deps due to abi changes, which I'm slowly working through. The ones I know about include: kde-plasma-yawp (ftbfs) koffice (building now) many sip-related bits (including, PyQt3, PyKDE3, avogadro, among others) -- Rex

Package review

KDE Bluetooth component missing?

Hello, F14, kde-4.5.3 I'm trying to add an audio bluetooth device and when I launch the wizard, it runs the kbluetooth-inputwizard. Shouldn't there also be kbluetooth-wizard? http://www.afiestas.org/audio-and-input-support-in-kbluetooth/ Thanks, Kyle

kontact does not start with the new akonadi

After updating to 4.6 bet1a kontact does not start anymore. akonadi complains about unknown resources: ]# rpm -q akonadi kdepim akonadi-1.4.80-1.fc14.x86_64 kdepim-4.5.80-1.fc14.x86_64 Any help here? :-) Other than that it works. :-) -- José Abílio
