Interesting. I've no idea what those 'special dates' are. It's enabled on my
Summary view, and it says I don't have any for the next 7 days, while a whole
list of appointments are listed as uup-coming events. I wonder if the
'special days' are taken from the holidays list - do you have a holidays
calendar configured?
If you'd like me to try to get more info about that plugin from the developers
I'm happy to try.

I don't think so. I think it is an akonadi/mysql message, related to the fact
that the calendar resource is not really ported to akonadi. We can register
it as a resource, but like the std.vcf resource, it isn't the 'full monty'. I
filed a bug report (bugs.kde.org) on those messages a long time ago, just so
that the developers were aware that we were seeing them. I suspect that,
because they are harmless, we should just ignore them untill 4.5 comes along.

unable to report kdebase-runtime crashes due to missing debug info.
by moabi2000
Hi,
I'm running F13 beta, and get regular nepomuk-related crashes in
kdebase-runtime reported by abrt. The system freezes for a few seconds each
time. I'd like to report this, but the correct debuginfo packages do not
appear to be available. (I have 4.4.2 installed). Anything I can do about
this?
Package: kdebase-runtime-4.4.2-2.fc13
Latest Crash: Wed 21 Apr 2010 12:46:54 PM
Command: /usr/bin/nepomukservicestub nepomukstrigiservice
Reason: Process /usr/bin/nepomukservicestub was killed by signal 11
(SIGSEGV)

kontact not working - missing files
by Dj YB
hello,
I have tried the pim-users list but got no solution.
when I start kontact the next files are reported missing and the program dies.
~/.kde/share/apps/kontact/local-todo.rc
~/.kde/share/apps/kontact/local-.rc
~/.kde/share/apps/kontact/default-.rc
this has something to do with the summary module since it only started after
choosing it, and now it is the default and I can't run kontact at all.
this problem started after the update to 4.4.2
Fedora 11
please help,
YB.

Peculiar behaviour of akonadi
by Anne Wilson
Among the problems I'm having with F13 is the very strange behaviour of
akonadi. I had been running kontact earlier, and shut it down. While trying
to troubleshoot this problem I've used System Activity Monitor to close the
left-behind threads, I've tried logging out to clear any left-overs, and I've
even rebooted. The situation now is this:
A kontact tab sits in my taskbar - but I can't access kontact. The 'Starting
Akonadi server....' progress bar has been running back and forth for several
minutes. Nepomuk is running, Strigi isn't.
$ akonadictl status
Akonadi Control: running
Akonadi Server: running
Akonadi Server Search Support: available (backend: Virtuoso)
This is after an 'akonadictl stop' and 'akonadictl start'.

PyQt applications segmentation fault issues
by Jeremy Sanders
Hi - after the recent PyQt4 upgrade I'm seeing segmentation faults with
PyQt4 applications when exiting or starting.
See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=583951
Is anyone else seeing these? Try installing PyQt4-devel and run
$ python /usr/share/doc/PyQt4-
devel-4.7.2/examples/dialogs/standarddialogs.py
[exit program]
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
xpc1:~:$ python /usr/share/doc/PyQt4-
devel-4.7.2/examples/demos/qtdemo/qtdemo.py
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
This is under the KDE desktop. I also see a blank table model view in my own
code, but that is a bit harder to reproduce.

F13 - KDE will only run in failsafe session
by Anne Wilson
KDE is now stable on my new laptop (latest Intel graphics driver) - as long as
I stick to 'KDE failsafe mode'. That seems to disable compositing - but I
don't know what else is missing?
I renamed my plasma-desktoprc and plasma-desktop-appletsrc, to start clean
sessions, but that hasn't cleared the issues. Any ideas?
While I can accept this as a temporary situation, I'd like to track the
problem down, before filing a bug report.

Ping Kevin Kofler
by Anne Wilson
Since you recommend using gnash I decided to try it again - it's a long time
since I tried it before. Can you play the video on
http://brunoabinader.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-kid-on-block-plasma-water-
animation.html ? I installed gnash* and it pulled in two more packages as
dependencies, but trying to play this brought a message about needing another
plugin. When I allowed it to search I lost the message, thought I'm fairly
sure it had gstreamer in the name.

Hi
Are there any plans for the recently released kile 2.1 beta 4 to be
available in Fedora 12?
Thanks
