nntp (aka, usenet) client in kde?

I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read
this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of
any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also,
search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is
kde specific.

Widgets using ksysguardd make plasma-desktop raise to 100% CPU usage

Hi,
First, Fedora 15 KDE is again really great! Thanks for this.
I've just one - minor - issue. Plasma-desktop raises to 100% cpu usage when I
put widgets like CPU monitor, Network monitor or Hardware Temperature monitor
on the desktop.
Anyone else sees this?

I think it's a known issue. I have tried the same thing you did.
It existed in F14 too. Here is one of the bug

KPackagekit is behaving oddly in system tray

Hello,
KPackagekit service is randomly (every 1-3 minutes)
popping/querying in/out of my system tray. I set it to check for
updates daily. Seems really odd. I am running F15/4.6.3. Ideas?

nouveau problem?

Hi,
I've just installed F15 on a system previously running F11. The video
card is a nVidia GeForce GT 230 and I was running the nVidia drivers.
Now, I'm trying out the nouveau driver.
It seems to mostly work. But, there is an issue which may be due to
nouveau.
When I mouse over an application on the panel a box pops up with the
name of the application and for a second a square within the box shows
the running window.
Also, if I move my mouse to the upper left corner, all desktops should
be displayed. However, they are a bunch of grey blobs.
Is anyone seeing this?

red X. When I mouse over it, it displays "Disconnect". However,
clicking on it has no effect. I could not find any buy related to
it...but I've been known to be a notoriously bad searcher. :-(
Is this a known issue or some thing amiss at my end?

Google calendar in Kontact

On the kdepim list, a while back, someone wrote a very clear how-to for
setting up Google calendar in Kontact, but he uses Ubuntu. The packages he
said were needed are
libgcal
akonadi-kde-resource-googledata
The first I have installed, but what is the Fedora equivalent of the second
one, please?

purple-facebookchat and kopete

hello,
I am trying to add the facebook chat kopete using the xmpp methos but fail
every time.
I have tried adding the chat to pidgin using purple-facebookchat and
succeeded.
what is wrong with kopete? is there a way to use purple-facebookchat in
kopete?

kmail asking for pw each time I send mail

activities and icons

I run 6 "Virtual Desktops" and in the "Pager Settings" I have "Different
Widgets for each Desktop" checked. Now, I like to create "Link to
applications" (a.k.a. icons?) of different sorts on each desktop. As it
is, whenever I create a link on a given desktop it appears on all desktops.
I have yet to find a way to have a different set of icons on each
workspace. I that somehow possible?
