konqueror always open new window
by Emmett Culley
Recently I've noticed that when I click on a folder in konqueror it pops up a new window. I've verified the "Open folders in separate windows" item is not checked. I can also see in the konquerorrc file that "AlwaysNewWin" = false.
Has anyone else seen this? It is interseting that I am not seeing this on my wife's system. Both are fully updated to 4.9.3 on Fedora 17.

by Rex Dieter
Been working feverishly over the past couple days, and finally have
something to show for it. kde-4.9.90 (4.10 beta2) packages are now
available in our f18 kde-unstable repository.
there's probably still a few packages here and there that need love to
fix broken deps, if you encounter any, please do let me know asap.
otherwise, enjoy.

Re: Kde Startup delays for 10 - 20 seconds (partially caused by nepomuk)
by Ubay Dorta Guerra
Hello,
I have Fedora 17 with the home directory mounted via autofs (NFS)
and the following versions of kdelibs:
kdelibs-common-4.9.2-5.fc17.x86_64
kdelibs-4.9.2-5.fc17.x86_64
Sometimes the kde startup sound delays up to 1 minute (you can see
the /var/log/messages file below).
I've tried to disable nepomuk (modifed
/usr/share/kde-settings/kde-profile/default/share/config/nepomukserverrc) and
pulseaudio (removed /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop), and the
problem is still present.
The only way to get rid of the delay is disabling the autofs and use
the local disk for home directories.
Any hints?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Rex,
Any plans to push KDE 4.10 B2 to Fedora-kde users?

Where is XDG_CONFIG_HOME defined?
by José Abílio Matos
Hi,
I am running F18, and I got tired of getting the same warning all
over again:
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 9: reading
configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
Reading the fonts-conf man page I found that the right place to put it is:
$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/fontconfig/
yet I do not have any XDG_CONFIG_HOME environment variable defined.
$ echo $XDG_
$XDG_DATA_DIRS $XDG_MENU_PREFIX $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR $XDG_SEAT
$XDG_SESSION_ID $XDG_VTNR
So I got curious, where is this variable defined?
I ask here because I saw several patches for kde in fedora to honour
such flag.
Regards,
