Baloo: tags missing
by Piotr Gbyliczek
Hi,
I did the switch to KDE 4.13 and I seem to lost the tags that I've added to my
files. This is most likely due to Nepomuk - > Baloo migration.
Could not find anything useful on the list or in the web, so :
Are the tags lost , or I need to dig deeper into how to attempt to retrieve
them from some data store that Nepomuk had ?
If so, any hints or links on how to do it ?
Before any comments, found and tried some info, but nepomukbaloomigrator
crashes on me, and I can't start nepomuk from my user, only from root (where
tags aren't existing, obviously)

KDE Telepathy and OTR
by Bjoern Schiessle
Hi all,
I'm using Fedora 21 with KDE and want to try the new OTR implementation of
Telepathy.
The first strange thing I observed was that I can't find anything about OTR if I
go to the system settings "Instant Messaging and VoIP".
If I set up my xmpp account open a random chat window and go to
Settings->"Configure Chat Application" I find some OTR settings. That's really
confusing but probably nothing for this mailing list but for a upstream bug
report.
But now the question why I write to this mailing list in the first place. If I
open the OTR settings and chose "Generate" to generate a new private key
nothing happens. No key, no error message, nothing. Any idea what could be
wrong?
Thanks!
Björn

All is means is that sddm + gnome-keyring-pam doesn't work, so when using sddm you cannot auto-open gnome keyring.
Options:
* manually open gnome-kerying (once) as needed per session
* use a different login manager than sddm ( that does work with gnome-keyring-pam)

So does this mean that Gnome apps can no longer be used under KDE
without a password dialogue? If so, that's a fairly big downer which I
don't recall anyone commenting on before now.

SDDM and gnome-keyring
by Patrick O'Callaghan
Those of us who use some Gnome applications such as Evolution are
occasionally flummoxed by the never-ending story of Kwallet vs
gnome-keyring. I suspect quite a few of us simply turn Kwallet off in
order to simplify things. I did this a few releases back and everything
worked, however with F21 I again have to input a password on every new
session of Evolution, because gnome-keyring is not running as part of
the login process.
Can anyone enlighten me as to how to modify /etc/pam.d/sddm to get this
working? There are a few recommendations out there but some are for KDM
and don't always agree even on that.
Looking ahead, this and similar problems have been cropped up for many a
long year now, and someone always mentions that efforts are under way to
resolve them (1), but nothing seems to happen - that Web page seems to
be moribund and the link to the proposed spec is dead. What are the
prospects of this incompatibility being settled? Seriously, aside from
the UI, is there any fundamental difference between the goals of Kwallet
and Gnome-keyring? Why does a DE even have to deal with managing
keyrings or wallets anyway? Shouldn't this be a lower-level service and
the DE just provide a UI for it?

Currently sddm does not (and cannot) support gnome-keyring-pam, due to known incompatibilities with signals (and masking).

Trouble with screen locking and suspend
by Orion Poplawski
Starting recently (last week or so) my F21 KDE laptop is back to
suspending before the screen locker is activated. So when I resume I
get a non-responsive workspace for a minute or two and then finally the
screen lock appears.
Anyone else seeing this? bug filed/reopened anywhere?

Switch Window mouse action not working in F21?
by Ian Pilcher
Does the "Switch Window" desktop mouse action work for anyone in F21?
It works fine for me in F20, but it doesn't appear to work at all in
F21.
Anyone know the proper component under which to file this?

KMail changed IMAP behaviour in F21
by Piotr Gbyliczek
Hi,
I've just upgraded my main desktop from F20 to F21, and noticed that KMail
behaves slightly different in terms of IMAP. Before upgrade I could go to a
message in KMail, read it and it would be marked as read if I access mailbox
via web interface. It was working perfectly the other way - KMail was syncing
in few minutes so emails that I have read through web interface was marked as
read in KMail.
Now the second case does not work. I still can mark email via KMail to see it
marked in web interface, but marking message as read in web interface does not
mark it in KMail.
Anybody had similar experience ? Any ideas if that is a bug, or planned change
in behaviour of either KMail or IMAP server (Google Mail) ?
Regards
