How to remove Plasma5
by Gerald B. Cox
Since I'm using LXQt now I decided to try to remove Plasma5... however,
looks like it's also going to remove kwin and sddm-breeze which I want to
use. Are those really dependencies?

Oh, I totally agree, by both my hands. We are just watching how GUI
suppresses minds. I find this dangerous.

Dolphin support for Google Drive
by Patrick O'Callaghan
A new feature in F23 is limited support for Google Drive in Nautilus.
You have to authenticate (once) with Google Online Accounts and then
can upload or download files by dragging. It's limited in that it's not
really usable as a mounted filesystem and isn't synced (basically
because GD still doesn't have an official Linux client), but still.
My question is whether anyone is working on a Dolphin equivalent. I did
try Nautilus under KDE but it crashed after a while and doesn't seem to
be very stable at the moment.

plans bring back lancelot menu?
by Reindl Harald
are there any plans to get lancelot back as alternative to kicker
because after using it for many years kicker is still a huge step
backwards and i would even go so far calling it unuseable
* it's way to small and not resizeable
* it don't remember the submenu previously opened
well, having "remote conntections -> company -> vnc -> machine1/2/3..."
and start 5 VNC session from there - with lancelot you just clicked
again on the menu icon and the section was still open, 2 clicks instead
5 for each action and additionally when you where fast enough you even
managed start 2-3 applications from the same menu before lancelot closed
the first time at all
and no - favorites don't scale at all, especially not when you have a
large screen and the kicker menu don't use the space
__________________________________________
well, that sounds more like theory as long lancelot is not available for
Plasma 5 while it should have replaced kicker long ago as default

KDE/Fedora is broken
by Emilio Recio
*begin rant*
Sorry to rant again but without thinking I started up Kate (which I use
all the time) and it /still/ won't print right. After wasting reams of
paper, the formatting was all wrong (not as it is on the screen). Again,
this hasn't been pushed out to the fedora packages.
I go and see if there's an update to KDE that would incorporate this bug
fix, and DNF fails ... FAILS every time. LIBCURL screws up on FTP
transfers and this /hasn't/ been fixed.
I am pissed off, and I am done. Using fedora gets in the way of my
productivity. This weekend I am switching. I haven't done it sooner
because I am just too busy, which makes me more frustrated when I run
into little issues over and over again like this.
*end rant*
Bye,
Emilio

Switching between 1 or 2 displays is annoying, but workaround is easy (at
least in my case). Just do:
killall plasmashell
daemonize /bin/plasmashell
and it gets fixed

Problem with the repo?
by Brad Hubbard
I've seen this the last couple of days.
I tried "dnf clean all" so I'm hoping it's not only me that is seeing it.
$ sudo dnf check-update
Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'kde' from 'http://apt.kde-redhat.org/apt/kde-redhat/fedora/mirrors-stable': Yum repo downloading error: Downloading error(s): repodata/1f4acba3fafb083b694b9f419a865b4233f185b41af1080c187510a7812f082f-filelists.xml.gz - Cannot download, all mirrors were already tried without success; repodata/c1c509717ea61f9763a546c646ab29ee637f84a49cbab629e6ec430069872444-primary.xml.gz - Cannot download, all mirrors were already tried without success, disabling.
I also suspect the most recent updates broke my nm vpnc connections.
NetworkManager[1037]: <error> [1447107345.368818] [vpn-manager/nm-vpn-connection.c:1980] get_secrets_cb(): Failed to request VPN secrets #3: (4) No agents were available for this request.
Worked the day before (I use it every day) but not since.
Hoping these are known issues.
Cheers,
Brad
