does kde respect fontconfig settings?
by Neal Becker
I put in ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf settings to turn on
but it didn't appear to work. Then I used kde settings to
fonts to turn on anti-aliasing, selecting RGB and hinting slight, and this
appears to have changed to appearance.
So is kde ignoring the fonts.conf setting?
kde settings does not include options such as lcdfilter either.

Re: f23 software update seems broken
by Rex Dieter
The update only fixes the deps (updates).
gnome-abrt is the gui you want (probably)

Well I see 2 different problems:
1. update isn't working
2. abrt reporting isn't working
Does this BR address both?

Sorry, probably broken dependencies, due to botched kf5-5.15.0 push to stable updates not working properly (2 days ago), it's being worked on.
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-084749eee7
trying 'dnf update' from command-line ought to highlight that better.

The software update icon in systray (is this apper?) says I have 112
updates. If I choose install, it says something about an internal system
error and I should report it.
No notification appears offering to report it. I tried on a WAG running
abrt-applet from command line, but this seems to do nothing (other than
hanging command line).

broken icons in folder view plasmoid
by Mattia Verga
Hi, on my workspace I have a folder view plasmoid set to show the
Desktop folder.
When I log in into KDE I always have some icons broken in this plasmoid
(see attached screenshot), but if I right click on one of the broken
icons (for example Home) and I choose "properties" I can view the icon.
After that if I click yes all icons in plasmoid show up correctly.
I already tried to reset user preferences by removing the .kde directory
and the 'plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc' config file under
.config directory.
Is there anything else I can try to fix the problem? Am I the only one
with this problem?
Thanks for any help.

KDE in Fedora 23 -- magazine article?
by Ryan Lerch
Hey all!
Just wondering if anyone is willing to work with me on writing up a
magazine article for KDE in Fedora 23 on the Fedora Magazine? -- we are
trying to get a bunch of magazine articles focusing on the new things in
fedora 23, and it would be awesome to have one about the KDE spin.
The problem here is that i am primarily a GNOME user, and not sure what
the new KDE brings to users in Fedora 23, so someone to help me out here
would be awesome!
cheers,
ryanlerch
