nntp (aka, usenet) client in kde?
by Gene Smith
I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read
this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of
any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also,
search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is
kde specific.

F22 comments
by Patrick O'Callaghan
Just installed F22 using fedup from F21. See the Users list for a
couple of general comments. Regarding KDE:
1) The Plasma session restore bug is still present.
2) SDDM is still broken (no gnome-key support) so I use KDM. Luckily it
still works on F22.
3) I get a crash report on each login from kf5-kactivities. I have no
use for Activies in Plasma but the package can't be removed because of
Plasma dependencies.

kde plasma/breeze problems
by George R Goffe
Hi,
I have made my system (Fedora 22 x86_64) up to date with DNF, rebooted and started KDE from run level 3 with startx.
There are still things that still don't work.
1) menu->systemsettings does nothing that I can see. NO menu appeared.
2) I
have a laptop display and a Samsung TV as monitor 2 but the settings are not a dual monitor. The Samsung has nothing on the bottom, I have "auto hide" set. Hovering the mouse pointer over where the menu (bar/panel?) should appear produces NO activity.
3) The desktop right button click now works for a while but is currently non responsive.
Any hints/tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
George...

qtwebkit update problem in SL6
by John Pilkington
I just updated my SL6 32-bit laptop, which hadn't been used for several
weeks. It seems to work well but libwebp cannot be updated because
qtwebkit-2.3.3-1 requires libwebp.so.4 instead of the libwebp.so.5 now
on offer.

user creation differences
by Ed Greshko
When a system is installed from scratch and a user is created during the install process the user will find themselves with a layout of "Desktop" when they login for the first time.
However, if you create additional users either via the GUI or command line the layout will be "Folder View".
Some may find that inconsistency annoying. Was this planned to be the case?

wallet migration
by Ed Greshko
I have a gpg encrypted wallet on my F21 system. I just tried a migration in F22 and it failed to decrypt the wallet. As a matter of fact, it didn't even ask me for the pass-phrase for the old wallet. Is this type of migration unsupported?

Gonna be a little irritating again Sorry
by Eli Wapniarski
Please everyone... I am not trolling or trying to start a debate. I am
just stating my own very personal views with the following.
I will start and end with the same statement.
My comments here in no way reflects the exceptionally good work and
repsonsiveness of Fedora's KDE Team.
This is the first time that I can remember that I am not looking
forward to the next release of Fedora.
I have done a bit of fiddeling with plasma 5 and I must say as a long
time KDE user I will not be upgrading to Plasma 5 on my main office or
home systems given its current state. It is buggy, missing many
features that I have become accustommed to and I have no way to work
around the issues.
While the individual issues that I have discovered may be minor, add
them all up together with all the problems and issues that have been
posted recently means some obstruction to my work flow.
I will list the problems:
no screensaver
clock on the system tray takes up way to much realestate resizing
windows causes my windows to black until I click the app on the task
switcher to minimze and then restore
I cannot set my regional settings to the country where I live without
changing the language of interface. I want it to remain english.
kdepim has not been ported to the new library set yet.
The text contrast kicker cannot be altered.
The American flag for the keyboard switcher is distorted
Like I said these issues are minor, but these issues are a reflection
of a very very cursive look. I would hate to see what I would find if
I did some real QA on it.
Again, my comments here in no way reflects the exceptionally good work
and repsonsiveness of Fedora's KDE Team. I am looking forward to when
Plasma 5 becomes more feature complete and stable. I am very confident
that the Fedora KDE team will get those out to us as soon as those
positive changes will become available.
Thanks for listening :)

konsole maximize/unmaximize
by Glenn Holmer
In a fresh F22/KDE install, if I maximize a konsole window (or if it
starts maximized and I unmaximize it), the text in the window
disappears. I can type blind, but can't get the text back. Is anybody
else seeing this?
