Re: F22 / KDE5
by Rex Dieter
Of course it's lame. lame is better than nothing.
Application developers have known (or should have known) for years now that classic xembed systray was deprecated and would be going away soon, and that they should support the newer status-notifier-based standards (or move away from systray icons altogether).

I tried that, and it is lame. (Personal opinion) All of my apps
(audacious, pidgin, davmail - java apps, etc.) just don't dock anymore,

Fwd: Broken dependencies: lxqt-panel
by Raphael Groner
What crap is this? Please do not break ABI/API in Beta Freeze.
Our issue is already discussed in the bug¹ and there in much detail. We
got that error mail already yesterday and there was promise to fix it.
This contibutor makes me really sad.

If this is the wrong list to complain, please tell me where I can do it
better.

KDE5: kate and toolbars
by Reindl Harald
two different toolbars while from the users point of view it's just one
with different items to select
in one you can place "save" while in the other "save all" and positions
of save can't be changed while positions of other items get the way you
configure it
seriously?

Date/Time Sunday/Monday Question
by Emilio Recio
So I am set to US locale, but my "Digital Clock" settings have my week
starting on Monday, instead of Sunday. Is there a way to change the
date/time such that my calendar week starts on Sunday?

kate (in f22) doesn't depend on kde-runtime or kdelibs
that list is ... inaccurate.

well, below the dependencies on F22 obsoleted by replace "kate" with
"code-editor" on a more or less minimal install previously removed all
unneeded deps
what i did was just look for a GUI editor working with X11-Forwarding on
my testserver upgraded to Fedora 22 and did the same afterwards on the
company buildserver still running F21 for now to avoid needless updates
when i start the dist-upgrade later

For anything not yet supporting status notifiers, you can use something like wmsystemtray (I do).

systray was part of my initial posting
* it don't work for applications which where used
with Exec=ksystraycmd while the UI still offers
it and does nothing else than add it to the command
* it don't work with "alltray", klick on Thundebird, Eclipse
or "rdesktop" and the windows disappears and never
comes back
* no idea if the developers only work with short tasks but
i know nobody which is closing his mailprogram and IDE
all day long to start it again while the space in the
windowbar is not endlessly
BTW:
i guess the 30 seconds waiting at login are caused by *repeatly* try to
start "upower" and "networkmanager" - both are not needed on a
workstation behind a UPS with static network configuration
"upower" in fact is masked because the machine of my co-developer a few
weeks ago startet to power of the monitor directly after login into KDE
and since "upower" is gone that don't happen - i know that this is a bug
somewhere but it's not worth to dig around remote in case of services
with no business in the current setup
