kate - turn off "Highlight Selected Text"

I'm really liking the kate that comes with kde5, except for one thing.
It comes with "Highlight Selected Text"[1] turned on by default.
It looks like with kde4, this was a plugin that you could turn on and
off, but with kde5, it's builtin, and as far as I can tell, you can't
turn it off.
Does anyone know how to turn this off?
This looks like something I might want once in a while, but having it
on constantly totally throws me off, because the highlighing is very
bright.

Missing header info - apps 18.12.2

Hi,
I'm currently testing the 18.12.x apps from Koji and have a slight issue with
the PIM apps. Kmail/Kontact is missing info in most of the message header
styles.
I have attached a grab showing the missing info in the Modern Header style.
I'll run more tests before I go check kde.bugs later. I wonder if anyone else
is seeing this? FYI 18.08 was fine.
