List server mis-configured?

I noticed recently that each time I send an email to the kde(a)lists.fedoraproject.org mailing list I get up to three failed DMARC reports from other email servers. The list is sending email "from" me with the source address: Source-IP: 38.145.60.11 (bastion-iad01.fedoraproject.org) Which, of course, does not match up with my email server's IP address, so SPF fails, It also appears that DKIM signature also does not match. I've had my server's DNS set up to request DMARK failure reports for a few years and haven't seen any reports lately except via this list. So I am wondering if something is mis-configured on this list server. Emmett

Looking over some broken deps reports, I came across some old packages: kdebindings smokeqt smokekde qyoto (csharp/mono) kimono (csharp/mono) ruby-qt ruby-korundum perl-Qt Of these, the only one that's not a pure leaf package is perl-Qt (debconf- kde depends on it). any comment or objection to considering orphaning most (all minus smokeqt/perl-Qt) or all of these ? -- Rex

Notifications - fails to hide when no unread notifications

Hello, Using plasma6/wayland I recently upgraded from Fedora 39 to Fedora 40. No problems with that, however I have noticed that when a notification occurs a pop appears (as it should), if I then clear/close the notification the popup window remains saying "No unread notifications". The issue is that the popup remains unless I click on something (e.g konsole), it then hides itself. I am fairly sure that under F39 and before, if there were no unread notifications then the popup itself would automatically hide itself (after the relevant time). The hide popup configuration setting is set to 5 seconds. So, do others see this too? Am I right that the popup used to automatically hide itself (after 5 seconds in my case) if there were no unread notifications? I have tried to find if this has already been reported, and it doesn't seem to have been, so before doing so I just want to make sure that it is something that has changed. Assistance with SSH Key Integration with KDE Wallet

Dear Fedora KDE team, I am reaching out for assistance with an issue I'm encountering regarding the storage of SSH key passwords in the KDE Wallet. I have set up my environment to prompt for my SSH key password using a graphical dialog, but I am facing difficulties with having the password stored or reused by KDE Wallet. 1. *Configuration Details*: I have configured my system by setting the SSH_ASKPASS and SSH_ASKPASS_REQUIRE environment variables in ~/.config/environment.d/ssh_askpass.conf with the following contents SSH_ASKPASS=/usr/bin/ksshaskpass SSH_ASKPASS_REQUIRE=prefer This setup successfully triggers a dialog box asking for my SSH key password. 2. *Issue*: Although the dialog appears and allows me to enter my password, it does not store the password in the KDE Wallet, nor does it seem to retrieve or use any stored passwords from there. 3. *Current Workaround*: Currently, the only method that results in the desired behavior is by exporting these variables directly in a terminal session, which is not ideal for system-wide or automated use. 4. *Question*: Could you provide guidance on how this integration is supposed to function? Specifically, I am looking to understand the correct setup to ensure that SSH passwords are both stored in and retrieved from the KDE Wallet seamlessly. I appreciate any documentation, tips, or personal experiences you could share regarding this matter. double check that your kde machines are being counted

Although many Fedora KDE users install their machines via the KDE live installer, there are many other people who do installs differently. I tend to download the Fedora Server edition, install a minimal install, and then build my desktop up from there. But as I was generating some Fedora statistics, I wondered if my own machines were being counted. Turns out they weren't. Well, they were being counted, but as Fedora Servers. Figuring I'm not the only person doing what I do, I decided to write this quick writeup. Check how your machine is being counted: rpm -qa | grep fedora-release-identity This shows how your machine is showing up on Fedora's CountMe. If you are running KDE and want to be counted, it should be fedora-release-identity-kde If it isn't, proceed to the next step. If you want to be counted as running Fedora KDE, do the following dnf -y install fedora-release-kde fedora-release-identity-kde --allowerasing The --allowerasing is important. A Fedora system is only allowed one fedora-release-identity package installed at a time, and it needs to erase the one that is originally installed. Hopes this helps Troy

fedora 40, plasma6, firefox file chooser

I've updated to fedora 40, so I now have plasma6. I used dnf to do the upgrade. I've noticed that the firefox file chooser now has the open and cancel buttons at the top of the popup window rather than at the bottom. I've also seen this in a home built python/gtk3 script. Is there a way to change the theme so that the buttons are at the bottom? I've looked at the live versions of plasma, workstation and xfce. Plasma and workstation both have the buttons at the top, but xfce has them at the bottom. Regards, Chris

Plasma file picker on Firefox and Thunderbird

Hello, on F40 in order to be able to use Plasma file picker on Firefox and Thunderbird, we still have to setup the GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 environment variable, despite having widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker = 2 setted and package xdg-desktop-portal-kde being installed. A friend of mine which is a KDE developer, he is using Arch and he does not need to have such variable to be set on his systems. Perhaps we somewhere have a packaging problem in Fedora?

window sharing stopped working

With recent updates on F40 on kde+wayland I cannot share a window in a meeting anymore. When this option is selected a black window is shown in the preview and to the other side of the conversation. Fortunately, sharing the entire screen still works.

KDE: Info Center ---> SMART Status returns only a fraction of disks

Hi, Running KDE plasma 6.0.4 on F40. I have an nvme SSD and several SATA SSD's /dev/sd[a-h]. When using SMART Status from the Info Center I used to see all of my disks. Suddenly, several weeks ago, the number of "visible" disks decreased to 3 and currently I only see /dev/sdb. However, the CLI command smartctl still correctly returns info of all the installed disks.
