It's time for another Fedora 45 blocker review meeting! We have 1 proposed blocker and 3 proposed freeze exceptions for Beta, and 1 proposed blocker for Final. Click the link above to join in a web client - you can authenticate with your FAS account - or use a dedicated client of your choosing. If you have time today, you can take a look at the proposed or accepted blockers before the meeting - the full lists can be found here: https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/ . Remember, you can also now vote on bugs outside of review meetings! If you look at the bug list in the blockerbugs app, you'll see links labeled "Vote!" next to all proposed blockers and freeze exceptions. Although this could have been worded nicer, I'm in favor of a minimal KDE install path. The first thing I do with each Fedora KDE install is remove Akonadi and a few other packages. Do you "User" mind opening an issue on our Fedora KDE tracker? https://forge.fedoraproject.org/kde/tracker/issues If you aren't comfortable with that, I can. The biggest thing we need to know and/or discuss is what a "Minimum KDE Installation" is? If you feel the Kubuntu has a good version, we can start there. The second thing we have to figure out is how to do it. Using a live media install, it's not as easy as doing a checkmark. We would have to do a full KDE Minimal spin. We could get something setup so that the "Everything" Fedora install shows it. Again, something that would need to be discussed. nvidia-modeset/kthread_q 100% CPU + frozen computer

Hi, Since I upgraded to fedora 44, I experience computer freeze under Plasma (wayland). Sometime when in screen lock mode, I cannot log back again because the computer is not responding. I can still log in via ssh and see that nvidia-modeset/kthread_q is using 100% of the CPU. But the computer does not even turn off with shutdown command. The only thing I can do is to run the sysreq commands to reboot with REISUB. I use the proprietary nvidia drivers from rpmfusion (610.43.03). My laptop runs an AMD CPU ( Ryzen AI 7 350 w/ Radeon 860M) with a NVIDIA GPU (GeForce RTX 5060). Last time it happened, I ran dmesg and found this (maybe unrelated): kvm_intel: VMX not supported by CPU 12 kvm_intel: VMX not supported by CPU 2 ... systemd-sysv-generator: SysV service '/etc/rc.d/init.d/livesys' lacks a native systemd unit file, automatically generating a unit file for compatibility. Please update package to include a native systemd unit file ... Anyone experiencing the same issue? Any advice on what to look at when this happens? Thanks, F
