I couldn't get a console or terminal session to run. However, it did a run
apper from the search results for apper and it worked. I then rebooted, as
I saw that kde settings was updated, and wow! it worked. Something similar
happened once before, but within an hour, I could no longer run kde apps.
Hope this is a permanent fix.
Thanks. This is so much better than Gnome and others. KDE handles
multiple monitors better than anything else. Especially on Fedora.
Kubuntu just doesn't quite match the performance of KDE on Fedora.
Thanks again.
Mark.

I can no longer run apper or the updater from the notification icon. What
have I done wrong or installed that might be causing this? I have
installed multiple user interfaces and choose the one I use from the login
screen listings. Could one of the others be conflicting somehow? If so
which one is usually the worst culprit? I'll go in with one of the more
reliable alternatives and remove the bad one(s). Any other ideas are also
greatly appreciated.
What happens if you run "apper" from a konsole session?
