Hi folks!
So, as you may know, every so often - between 3 and 14 days - we create a new validation event for the next Fedora release. There's an email announcement of this. The emails look like this:

or this, for release candidate composes:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test-announce@lists.fedoraproj...
Until now, these announcements have gone only to test-announce@ . They used to be automatically forwarded from there to devel@ , but it seems that doesn't happen any more. Also, the server WG said they want the announcements to go to their list, so I'm tweaking the bot right now to send announcements to test-announce@ , devel@ , and server@ .
While I'm doing that, does anyone else want these emails on their list? If so, let me know, and I can change it easily.

I like these because they're incredibly helpful to know what has made it through or failed. Otherwise I don't know until someone complains. It's pretty much the only way I can be proactive in a reasonable fashion. I think it'd be great for the kde@ list to have it so people can be more engaged about KDE image candidates.

There's no kde-announce list, is there? These already go to test- announce, but apparently not everyone wants to sign up to that, I guess. I don't think they're important enough to go to announce@ .

No, but since KDE is now a first-class spin with the same status as Gnome, the general Announce list may be the way to go. Just a thought.

No. The announce list is for release announcements and other "everyone should know about this" information. It's for both general users as well as contributors. Sending test announcements of any kind is not appropriate.

I don't think candidate compose announcements are really important enough to go to project-wide announce@ . It'd be a lot of traffic for that list, and probably not really of interest to a lot of its audience.

Those emails (along with the compose emails) indicate whether any non-blocking images have failed (such as the aarch64 ISO and the plamo images) and it's very easy for me to jump straight to the OpenQA test results if I need to look more deeply at something.

I think you're thinking of different emails. You seem to be describing the 'compose check' emails. Those only go to the test-reports@ list ATM because people found the volume kinda overwhelming on devel@ and test@. I *could* send them here too but I'm not sure the whole WG would want them. (I could also just CC them direct to you...)
Honestly the 'expected image check' thing is a bit hoary and at some point I was meaning to take it out of fedfind...the failed-composes tracker kinda seems like a better way of doing that job, to me anyway...

I think you're thinking of different emails. You seem to be describing the 'compose check' emails. Probably. This is the email with the links to the test matrixes and the download URLs for all the images, right?
The test announcements are useful since KDE relies more on manual testers than GNOME does, so I think it makes sense.

The failed-compose tracker is impossible to work with. I really dislike the fact we lack dedicated dashboards for these things.
