Kmail always displays "emoticons" in the message window. It didn't always do this and it once allowed me to configure it to not put those silly things in the message text. Now, I cannot find any place to specify that I do not want this mangling of message text. I see that ~/.config/kmail2rc contains:
[Reader] ... ShowEmoticons=false
But it is obviously being ignored.
Does anyone know how to get back the normal behavior.

Its now in the main window in the "view" drop down menu. Tested and works here.
This is Kmail 5.6.1, from applications 17.08.x, F27
