Hi,
When I enable desktop effects (nouveau/openGL) by default the panel gets transparent. Really nice, but this in combination with the Lovelock wallpaper makes the date e.g. very hard to read. Especially the bottom of the paper is rather dark.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?

If I am not mistaken... the transparency comes from settings/workspace appearance/desktop theme/air.
Change it to oxygen or something else to get rid of transparency, or choose/make a wallpaper that has monochrome borders.

Hi Petrus,
Thanks for your hints! Although it wasn't exactly what I was trying come up with. My point is that one has to change default settings(1) (Lovelock theme or transparency settings) to get a usable/readable system. Not a very nice - first - user experience IMHO, isn't it?

(1) I'm always trying to us the settings that are given to me 'out of the box'.

Me, too. Years ago, I spent many hours to get even the minutest aspects of a system exactly how I wanted them, but I gradually realized that I had to do it all over again every 6 months with each new Fedora release, and all of that twice, for both a desktop and a laptop computer.
Now, my philosophy is to change as little as possible and still have _exactly_ what I want.
